I read the announcement about the change to listing data archive policy and was wondering if pending listings will be removed even if I haven't used them for at least 2 years. I keep certain auction descriptions in my pending list to easily access them for future use (I don't use archive as there are too many clicks to get there...you should add an archive list on the Sales Manager page to go with active, pending and closed auctions and just have a collapse and expand button on each section). Anyway, I sell these items when I happen to come across them to add to my inventory. The announcement says "We will delete pending listings and archive closed listings if an account login has not occurred in two or more years". So I am assuming I simply login to my account (which I do often) and my pending listings should be OK. Or do I have to manually click on each pending auction to "update" it much like I had to do to photos that I did not want to be deleted?
The only pending listings that will be cleared out are ones that are in an 'error' state and have been sitting in their 'error' state for more than 2 years.
If these are pending listings that you use to create new listings off of, they will be saved until you manually delete them. (or if you end up leaving Vendio and haven't logged into your account for more than 2 years.)

OK. So when I click on one of my old pending auctions and get this message after saving it, it is not considered an errored listing, correct?
Listing saved with errors :
- Please select a valid US insurance cost to use with eBay fixed shipping.
- Invalid fields: Insur cost
I just click on the "OK" button instead of the "Edit" button and it goes back to the pending list (I don't use fixed shipping very much and the insurance cost is filled in my preferences). I take it an "error" state is when the word "error" shows up in red in the pending list under time scheduled to launch?
That is correct, when an item is in an error state you would see the word 'error' beside it in pending with a date/time that the item went into that state.

Hey Chris! Thanks for your prompt responses...you're awesome! I am going to post a new topic about a suggestion I have.

Hi, I am upset that you are deciding to delete closed listings that are 2 years or older.
I often go back to my older listings and recreate them in a different format.
It saves me from reinventing the wheel.
Does this new policy mean that you will also be deleting inventory listings?
No. We will not be deleting inventory items. If you have listings that closed over two years ago, and you need that data for the future, please save it as a pending listing (which will not be deleted as long as you log in to your account at least once every two years).

2 weeks is pretty short notice for a major change like this?
I guess it will make Vendio faster but more notice would have been nice.
If you archive items, then you will be able to download some of the basic information from the archive. However, please note that some information (such as the listing description) is not available in the archive download.

Thanks, Nathan, The upcoming changes will affect a number of users. Neglus just embarked on a cruise and doubt if she will be able to change any of her closed listings to pending in time.
