I love listing through Vendio and am one of your biggest supporters. Recent changes in eBay and reduced sales have caused me to consider painful cost reduction cuts and I have to consider if what I am getting from Vendio warrants my monthly fees. I used to get virtually unlimited photos vs. eBay's single photo allotment. I could scan at higher resolutions and have larger, clearer images in my descriptions. I could schedule listings at my will without additional charge. I had a record of my listings from Vendio far past the eBay expiration date. Ebay's recently renovated listing page is changing the way buyers look at listings. Buyers are looking at the left hand corner at the beginning of the listing for all views. Ebay is showing larger dpi images, offering a zoom (magnify) feature for (free) eBay hosting. eBay now allows up to twelve photos per listing without extra charge. I've never used Vendio for post-sales management and, although I love it, I seriously consider the monthly charge, considering all I'm getting is the scheduling of listings and the history of past listings. Using Vendio, I'm missing multiple pics showing up in the left corner - enlarge section (which users are being conditioned to use) and the use of free for me zoom feature.
Note that while that may be true specifically for sellers in the Collectibles category, that isn't the new rule across the board (free images past the first.)
That said we are checking into the possibility of users asking that their uploaded images to Vendio be mapped to the eBay picture hosting service or not, which to most would be an upgrade/charge from eBay on a per picture basis, but for very specific sellers/categories this wouldn't result in an additional fee. As stated in the other thread on this issue we have not been made aware by eBay that they would be making those initial images at the top left corner of the page available to third party hosting services - at this time anyway, as putting images into that section isn't something that is currently available to *anyone* unless your using the eBay picture service to store them and (for most) paying for that upgrade.

From what I've seen, most of the multiple pic Vendio users ARE in the Collectibles category so please don't brush this aside. This is a feature to make eBay more buyer-centric and I see eBay as expanding it to more categories, rather than making it go away. I've noticed that eBay now allows multiple picS to be shown on the search page, without clicking through to the listing page. If the user does click through to the listing page, I have a temporary fix for new listings where I have added a top border to my gallery scan with "Scroll down for more scans".

Here's a flash!
Times are bad, money is tight and eBay sales for collectables is no where near what it once was.
Obviously, eBay is the first to realize this situation and positioned it's services to reflect that market intel.
Vendio should do much more to emulate the undisputed market leader, eBay, by at least offering rates and services that are competitive with such formidable competition.
Right now most people are forced to make do with less of a bottom line profit so it would make good business sense for Vendio to chip away at their own bottom line in order to retain clients and have a chance to survive this climate.
Getting to the top is admirable, but staying on top takes the wisdom shifting balance for stability as the earth moves under your feet.
Good luck Vendio!
