At today's SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT DISCUSSION BOARD, eBay said that third party developers CURRENTLY have the ability to upload images to eBay picture services. Now that up to 12 images can appear in the upper left corner of this listing, what are Vendio's plans to enable loyal Vendio users to take advantage of this feature. Very important now that buyers are not scrolling down to read actual descriptions!
The new fee structure applies to auctions submitted via both eBay and 3rd-party listing services. The actual fees are computed when the listing is submitted, so if a 3rd-party service includes a user-interface that displays fee information, the service provider might need to update those displays. Regardless,, eBay will apply the fees described in the announcement today.
3rd-party services can still supply one non-eBay hosted picture for display at the top-left of the listing page and for use as a source for the listings Gallery thumbnail pictures used in search results, My eBay, etc. Additional non-eBay hosted pictures are still permitted embedded within the listing description.
[bold]eBay provides an API for 3rd-party listing service providers to upload pictures for eBay picture hosting. Pictures uploaded via that API can be used in listings from 3rd-party programs for display at the top left of the listing page, identical to listings created via eBay site forms and tools like Turbo Lister. With today's changes, listings for Basic Stores subscribers can have up to 12 pictures uploaded via the API included in listings for free, including the Supersize and Zoom features if the source pictures are large enough. Contact your 3rd-party service provider for details about their current or planned support for eBay-hosted pictures.[/bold]
