Hello,

Could you please let us know which operating system you are using? If you wanted to uninstall and then reinstall, you would need to first uninstall from the "Add or Remove Programs" section of your computer.

Also, at what point in the process exactly are you getting this error? Is it while you are synchronizing, or at a different point?

Regards,
Nathan

Hello,

Please let us know which operating system you are using -- this is extremely important to know when trying to determine the cause of a Sales Manager Pro problem.

The images can take between a few seconds and many hours to download, depending on the number of images that you have and your internet connection. It will probably be longer rather than shorter for your account based on the number of images that you have. You will need to do this, however you should make sure that the program is working correctly for you before going through the trouble.

When you let us know which operating system you are using, please also confirm that you have tried restarting your computer since reinstalling.

Regards,
Nathan

Hello,

If it was working fine and then suddenly stopped after the install of Excel 2010 you may have to start using some of the workarounds others have been trying to get it to run in Windows 7. Unfortunately the program was last designed to support Windows XP as it's slowly phased out of support, though some Windows 7 users have had luck running it in "XP Mode" if you have a version of Windows 7 above just the standard "home premium" version, or in Virtual PC. Another option is to try the different compatibility modes available, just right click the SMPRO icon and go to 'properties' and look for the compatibility tab. Try Windows 98 (oddly enough) first as that has given some good results in the past, then Windows XP SP2 and 3 modes to see if the behavior is different.
Unfortunately it does seem to depend on what other Microsoft programs have been installed as the behavior is wildly different from one Windows 7 installation to the next.

Chris

Hello,

The move is just going away from purely offline based listing programs. We had originally designed this software because users with dialup models had a much easier time listing without a browser interface, so they could just batch their work up to the website afterward. With the huge variety of operating systems, the need to have a version of the software for nearly every version of every operating system and eBay's trend towards using Catalog matching and other online-based functions - Sales Manager Pro just has to be retired eventually. The biggest issue is of course not being able to actually keep it offline anymore, as more and more categories are setup to require a call to eBay to do catalog matching. At that point your depending on browser/web functions anyway, so calling it a software program isn't really accurate as your better off just going into the browser itself to create and manage your listings than to just frame browser elements into yet another program that eats system resources.

When your not used to using anything else, it can seem a lot slower at first and I used to always believe that Pro would always be the fastest way to create listings to. But in time ive realized that you can do the same functions from the web based sales manager using most of the same types of functions and do it equally as fast. (provided of course you don't really rely on dialup connections.)

Chris

Hello,

Thank you for the update. There does seem to be some files that get installed during other program installations that ends up making the issues that users run into with Windows 7 and SMPRPO. Technically speaking it should just run the same as it did in XP as Win7 was supposed to be compliant with XP programs, and it did work fine when Win7 was first released.

Unfortunately there are a few programs out there that will modify Windows, in a way where it starts detecting that a program has crashed and then it terminates it automatically.

Im glad to hear you were able to find a solution that worked for you.

Regards,
Chris
