I've been using XPress Publisher for around 8 years now. I name my picture in the order I want them on the page. For years it works fine, The last several weeks it has not been loading them in order it. They seem to load in random, Any idea what is wrong?

Hello,

Could you please let us know in more detail on exactly what page the images are not loading in the order that you want them? Do you mean that on the main "Image Hosting" page the images are not in alphabetical order?

If not, please let us know. If so, the problem is that the images are currently being sorted by "Last Viewed" date. In order to sort them by file name, please click the "Filename" column header (please note that you might need to click it twice to get the desired view).

Regards,
Nathan

Hello,

Currently your global preferences are set to display the images on the create item page in order from newest to oldest. Please change this setting by going to "My Account" --> "Global Preferences" --> scroll to almost the bottom of the page and edit the drop-down box for "Sort attach images in create auction" to "Alphabetically". Please let us know should you continue to have trouble with this after making that change.

Regards,
Nathan

It has always been set that way. But when I upload them they are not being displayed in the order I load them. It worked fine for 12 years. But has recently changed to a somewhat random order.

Hello,

Could you please try changing this preference to "Alphabetically" and see if that helps? Currently the preference is set to "Newest to Oldest".

Nathan

I tried that. Not what I want. I want it in order loaded. I put them Alphabetically when I name them. Problem is the are not not display the in the order loaded. They are in random order. They jump around, such as;
d2
d3
f4
f2
a1
f3
a2
a4
a3
It should be;
f4
f3
f2
d3
d2
a4
a3
a2
a1
d2
This is how it worked for years. If I do it alphabetically I have to scroll though several years and pages to find the pictures

Hello,

Please let us know in more detail in exactly what way you are uploading images. Are you uploading all of the images at once in one batch, and those images aren't showing in the order that you clicked on them when selecting them for the XPress Image Publisher, after they are uploaded? Or are you uploading in batches and the second batch isn't necessarily showing before the first batch after they are uploaded and you start the process of creating a listing? Or are you selecting an entire folder of images to upload at once, and the images are not appearing in Vendio in the same order that they were on your computer?

Also, in the meantime what might help would be to create folders for your images in Vendio. If you create a different folder for each day or each batch of images, then you can upload all of those images to that one folder and use the setting to sort the images alphabetically. Then you would just need to select the folder for the current batch of images that you are using.

Regards,
Nathan

Hello,

Unfortunately the priority of putting attention on the XPress Publisher utility is fairly low, compared to all other feature requests and big fixes due to the limited number of users effected (and unfortunately because it's really just a tool built into Windows XP that we setup for users to be able to use with Vendio, so there's a lot about it that we actually don't have any control over.)

That said, all feature requests and bug fixes will receive their due attention in time.

Regards,
Chris
