Hello,

I would like to have Visa/Mastercard payment option show in the top part of my eBay listings, along with Money Order, etc., as well as down at the bottom of the page.

How do I do this? I've tried and tried through Global and eBay preferences but can't do this unless I state how I process... Well, I don't process credit cards - I accept them through PayPal.

Any clues? So far I've had to edit each new listing to check the Visa/Mastercard box.

Would be way simpler if I could just do this through my preferences.

Thanks for the help,

Lucy

Hi Ohmslucy,

That is a feature of eBay's Billpoint. You can sign up for billpoint at:

Hi Brian,

Thanks for your quick reply!

The only thing is, if I sign up for Billpoint, wouldn't Billpoint then show in my auctions?

If that is true, then I'm not complying with the terms of my PayPal Mastercard and would lose the 1.5% cash back.

Hmmmm... any ideas?

What I'm looking for is a way to click a box, similar to the ones we click for shipping charge options. Can't seem to find this anyplace.

And I DON'T want the Visa/Mastercard logo to show up in my ads, because buyers click it, not knowing it generates a "Send Billpoint Invoice" automatically to me!

Hi Ohmslucy and Belalug3,

I'm not sure of the terms of the PayPal Mastercard so I wouldn't be able to tell you what is in compliance. It is my understanding that the only way to get the visa/mastercard logos at the top of your auction listings is to sign up for ebay's billpoint.

Hi Sonya,

Thanks for replying.

Maybe my first post wasn't clear. I'll try again.

Is there a way to put Visa/Mastercard into the Payment section of my eBay listings through AW?

In the AW Create a Listing page are boxes to check for Payment Types Accepted. There are boxes for Money Order, Personal Check, COD, etc.

There is no box to check for Visa/Mastercard.

I don't want logos - - I want Visa/Mastercard to show up in the Payment section near the top of my eBay listings.

The only way I've been able to accomplish this is to edit the auction after it's on eBay.

Thanks!

Lucy

Hi Lucy,

I see what you are referring to, I thought you meant the logos. In Global Preferences of your My Account tab, there is a box you can check for Visa/Mastercard. This will apply to your listings. I hope this helps!

Well, here we go again...

THERE'S NO PLACE IN GLOBAL PREFERENCES TO ADD VISA/MASTERCARD WITHOUT CHECKING OFF CREDIT CARD PROCESSING METHODS. IT IS TRUE THERE IS A BOX THERE BUT IT REQUIRES A CREDIT CARD PROCESSING METHOD.

Sorry for shouting but must admit I'm becoming a teeny bit annoyed having to repeat myself.

Please take a look at my first post...

Please, is there someone at AW who can answer my question? Either there IS a way to add Visa/Mastercard to Payment options without a credit card processing method or there ISN'T.

Thanks,

Lucy

Hi Lucy,

Unfortunately, you have to check off the offline credit card processing method in Global Preferences in order to use it. I apologize for misunderstanding your post.

Hi Sonya,

I just looked at the Global Preferences screen and for the life of me I don't see any "offline credit card processing method" there.

Hi Lucy,

The only way to get the Visa/Mastercard line to appear is to check it off in Global Preferences, and then choose a Credit Card Processing method underneath it (there are two there -- Verisign and Direct Credit Card processing). When you are creating a listing, in the payment options list, the "Direct CC Offline Processing" option will be checked and your payment choice of Visa/Mastercard will be shown. When the auction goes live the text will be there.

I apologize once again in case I have confused you. The only workaround would be to check off the Direct Credit Card payment option, and in the text box provided, type in any instructions you have for a winner who chooses this method.

Hi Sonya,

Just wanted to let you know IT WORKED!!!

My eBay listings now show Visa/Mastercard up top in the payment options. Not only that, there's no notation that I revised the listing before first bid. Not that that is a big deal but it's still nice.

You've saved me a whole bunch of time and I do appreciate it.

Thank you very much.

Lucy
