Hi, I was trying to list but when I clicked on the link for the categories up came HTTP Error 404, 404 Not Found, The Web server cannot find the file or script you asked for. Please check the URL to ensure that the path is correct.
Please contact the server's administrator if this problem persists.
Here is the address that came up, http://listings.ebay.com/aw/listings/list/all/category353/categories.html I am on a Mac if that helps. Where are the categories? Thanks, Diana

Hi Diana,
eBay seems to have removed the category page with the complete listing of all categories and their numbers.
They still have the basic one listed : http://listings.ebay.com/aw/plistings/list/categories.html
That one however does not go into the sub categories at all. I have not yet found the full page, if anyone has it please post the URL here. We will notify engineering that eBay has removed that page.

Hi Christopher, Thank You for your fast reply!! What I ended up doing for now, so that I could pre-list, was to open another window and go to ebays site map to get their Category Overview so here is the web address for it http://listings.ebay.com/aw/listings/overview.html
It looks like they changed it so that they could put their Auction for America up for the first page. Thanks Again Ever So Much!!

Hi Again, I left the new web address for the Category page here last night and so far it hasn't been fixed. Do You have any idea when it will be? Thanks, Diana

Hi Diana,
We are still waiting to hear back from our Engineers. You should expect that to be fixed very shortly, probably first thing this week.

Hi Diana--that link you gave above doesn't work, either. It does list all the categories and subcategories, but the numbers next to the titles are the actual # of auctions currently running in that category/subcategory--those #s are not the category #s we need. If you try to use one of those, your listing will either be rejected as "not a leaf category", or if you accidentally stumble across a # that is a category #, your Pyrex bowl will end up under Risque Novelties, or something equally bizarre!
I haven't been able to find a working eBay category page, either.
I don't use AW to list, so I don't know if my workaround will help you or not. I write up all my auctions in my program, and insert the category #s I know (BUT BE CAREFUL--A LOT OF THEM HAVE CHANGED LATELY!!!) Then for the remaining auctions, I go to one of my listings that doesn't have a bid, and then pretend I'm going to revise it, and click where it asks if I want to change the category. That gives me the ebay grid. I just click away until I find the category #s I need, then back out of the revision process.
Vrane's category page isn't any good, either--it hasn't been updated for a while. It's missing vitally important subcategories like Scooby Doo toys...well, I mean, it must be a vital subcategory, or eBay wouldn't have created it, right????

Hi Psyllie! Thank You for letting me know about the bad links!! I just went and checked and sure enough.....my Alexander Doll was under Sports Mem.!!!!!! In fact, everything that I had listed for the past 3 days was in the wrong place!! (Thank Goodness I'm not listing much right now!)
Now Auction Watch, do you have any ideas of when this will be fixed? Please answer this time. I have paid for a service that is getting almost impossible for me to use!! At Least give me some sort of idea! Thanks, Diana

HELP!!!!! I've been trying to list for 4 days and I'm at wits end. I managed to list 2 Fenton vases, one showed up in the "old stamps" category, the other showed up in the "disneyana" category. What's the hold up???

Hello,
The complete page of categories with their respective numbers has been removed. Apparently the only one that is available right now is the one that was posted up earlier in this thread:
http://listings.ebay.com/aw/plistings/list/categories.html
Unfortunately this does not go into sub categories at all, when you click on one of the categories it is a broken page. You could try using one of those general category numbers, and if you needed to go back in and change it to a sub category, use this link:
http://cgi5.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ChangeCategoryShow

Hi Sonya, ok, I understand how ebay is playing around with their pages. But what I don't understand is........WHEN IS THIS GOING TO BE FIXED??!! This is not right! Why should I have to go and borrow a computer....or.....jump thru the hoops that you posted??!! This is NOT what I paid for!! You are now charging customers more......for WHAT?? Please let us know if Auction Watch intends to fix this or if it is going to be ignored till we go away. Diana

Hello,
The category listing pages are hosted on eBay, the only recommendations I can make at this point would be to email their customer support department to see when it will be fixed. Others have indicated that the problem was discussed on the message boards at ebay, and that the ebay engineers know the pages were down and are working on fixing them.

Hi Sonya, Thanks for getting right back to us. But since we Pay Auction Watch to list here, Shouldn't Auction Watch either have the category numbers for us themselves...... Or shouldn't AW be the ones who contact ebay, letting them know that their Customers who Pay AW to List on ebay so that ebay can also make money......Want it Fixed!! GIVE US A TIME! THIS IS WHAT YOU ARE PAID FOR!! I am sorry to be so angry but this has gone on long enough! We want to list. We can't unless we jump thru hoops. We pay you for a service. PLEASE get on the key board and let your boss know that we can't list! Look at how long this has gone on??!! We shouldn't have to be the ones to contact ebay. The service that we paid AW for doesn't work now and hasn't for a couple of weeks!!! PLEASE!!! FIX THIS MESS!!
