Hello,

There was a short outage at eBay and in seeing that announcement it appeared as though this error message would go away once they were back up. However users are still seeing their auctions come back in error, and engineering is working quickly to correct it.

There may have been an unannounced change to the ebay site, which we will need to adjust now for. As soon as we have more information available, we will post back to this thread.

Leave your auctions in your pending section for now, once we are back up and running you will be able to resubmit them at that time.

Is there an estimated time frame for correcting this error?

I have 31 pending auctions launching this evening.

Once this error is corrected, will my "error" auctions automatically go through? And will they now close at the launch time they go through or the original scheduled time?

Hello,

Engineering has identified the problem and is working quickly to resolve it, sorry I cannot give an ETA on when exactly this will be corrected. (eBay made an unannounced change, and we are working to adjust for this change.)

The moment we hear anything, this thread will be updated with that information.

Once the error is corrected, will the items that received the error launch automatically?

Will the closing time of the items be the original time as scheduled or will the time be adjusted?

Hello,

Once the erorr is corrected, you will need to manually resubmit those auctions. They will launch with an ending time matching the time at which they were finally submitted.

Thank you! Although doing it manually is a bit of a pain, at least they won't be launching at 2am or something. It is already 8:15pm here. I never launch later than that. Thanks again for the update

Lets see ...two nights ago...all auctions stuck in processing..tonight, guess what?? Okay you say its not your fault this time, but I cant see paying more for this service. How much longer? I would appreciate knowing something so I dont waste another three hours trying to get my stuff to launch.

Hello again,

Let me try to clear things up a little on this outage.

At around 3:20 (ish) today eBay made some unannounced changes on their site, which actually took them offline for a short period of time. We were able to list to them for a little bit, then they released the revised changes to the site.
We have since been working on a resolution to adapt to this change, and as soon as we have one ready to push live to the site, we will post a new announcement saying so.

We do apologize for this inconvenience. Engineering is working quickly to correct this situation.

My relist items from yesterday went through ok. All the rest are sitting with errors.

Can I check them off and hit resubmit?

Or What?!

Hello,

Apparently this is only effecting new auctions. Scheduled relists are going through without error.

If your items are relists, go ahead and attempt to submit them. Otherwise, wait until this error has been cleared up.

Do you know when it might be fixed?

I have tried to rescedule them until tomorrow and it will not let me do that either.

Any idea what I can do to reschedule them for Wednesday?

Hello,

Sorry I cannot give an ETA on this issue.

You should however be able to schedule your items to list tomorrow without error. I just tested it and the system will still allow you to schedule your items to list in the future. Simply select all of those items at once, click the resubmit button and use the bulk scheduling option.

To unschedule an auction that's showing an "error", you just need to click on the auction, scroll down to the bottom, and click "save". Then when the error has cleared up, schedule it again.

If it's pending, you should be able to click on it and scroll all the way down to unschedule. (I haven't had to do that this time, but in the past, I'm pretty sure that's the way I did it. There should be an option at the very bottom to cancel the launch.)

Okay now I have had it and am angry. I have been working on this for hours with no success. Only getting the eternal error when trying to list. It is very important for me to get these items listed. I do not have the time to sit here for hours trying to list a very few items. FIX THIS PROBLEM. It looks like you have had most of the day to fix it....so what is the hold up? I have already had to use another method to list one very important item and really would rather not have to do the same for all of them since I do pay for Auctionwatch and deserve to have the services available for me to use when I need them. JUST PLEASE GET WITH IT GUYS...MOST OF US HAVE A LIFE OTHER THAN SITTING IN FRONT OF OUR COMPUTERS WAITING TO BE ABLE TO LIST ITEMS.

Oh fun! So I spent hours getting my 12 auctions together, I am bone tired, and now I get to open them up..one at a time and save them. Then, later, I can try launching again. Just what I need....unless, of course, I want them to launch at 2:00 in the morning or at some other ghastly hour. Well this should only take me another 1/2 hour or so...that's all we have is time..right? Folks out there, am I the only one who feels jerked around or what? I used to love selling online(remember that feeling?). Now, most of the time I just hate it. Every single service is a lemon and all they want to do is rip you off for more and more $$. Oh sure, they all say, just 5 cents more, 1/2 % more, etc. All very small hmm?. But, I challenge you, add up all the "fees" you pay, and you will be damn well surprised at how many "bites" are being taken out of you. One thing I intend to do is stop using online services like Paypal, Billpoint, or c2it (which I never used). Think about it, just go back to money orders or checks. Takes a little longer, but you won't be paying those exorbitant "processing " fees and you will save a lot. It really adds up. If you don't believe me, look at your online payment service fees for the last month, you will be amazed. Then multiply those by 12 months of the year..ha!. Another thing I intend to do is BEG ebay to add really good image hosting services, right now they are too primitive. Then, I can dump AW and do everything at one site, plus no Paypal or Billpoint fees. Folks, one thing about Americans that needs changing is that we don't challenge authority enough. Don't be sheep, fight back, save your money. Don't say it's just pennies. Hey, these companies make millions that way, by charging a few more cents, meanwhile making you believe that it is nothing. Rememebr, if it weren't for you, not business, but you, the individual worker, these companies wouldn't exist. You created them, not vice versa. Take control. Thank you for listening to my outburst : )

I just love a good outburst. I do find, though, that even with listing/selling fees of around $9000 a year it's only about 1/3 of what my print ad budget was on a sales volume basis. The few thousand in payment processing fees are not bad either. Instant payments also help to reduce the square footage in my mail and processing rooms used to store orders pending payment.
These interuptions with listing and such are aggrevating when they happen but, I find AW has spoiled us compared to the way I had to list on ebay two years ago. Compared to how I had to sell 10 years ago, it's a breeze.
Hang in there everybody and be patient. Writing program is hard enough, finding out why program doesn't work is even tougher. Believe me, they are on it!!!

Thanks to AuctionWatch for keeping us updated on the outage. When I couldn't preview my new listing, it was nice to come here and find out that you not only knew, but you were working on it and posting what you'd found. I do appreciate that.

Before anyone comes down too hard on AuctionWatch, consider the fact that Ipix is infected with the NIMDA virus and an untold number of sellers who list directly on Ebay using that service have been infected. The information is on the announcement board and there is a thread in the Ebay Outlook forum concerning it. Ebay has such a mess to straighten up right now, that I seriously doubt they are in a position to co-ordinate anything with 3rd party providers. I'll just wait until the AW tech's get it straightened out. It's costly and frustrating, but at least when our listings start going through, it'll be safe.

The light at the end of the tunnel will turn out to be an oncoming train.

I've been trying to list auctions tonight, also, and while it is inconvenient, this too, will pass. I would think that at a time such as this, we would all be a bit more uncomplaining when it comes to the little things. This is a little thing. A time delay - it happens all the time, and it's completely out of our control. When I couldn't figure out what was wrong, I went and checked out eBay's listing services. AuctionWatch is a real bargain compared to eBay (at least for the little guy - I don't know about the rest). I'll wait for the glitch to be worked out. Besides - a lot of us had a free ride at AW for a long time.... I don't mind paying a nominal fee for good service.

Not to sound like I'm preaching, but we should try and keep things in perspective, especially during these trying times....

I have over 100 auctions pending and have received numerous listing ERRORS. It has been two days since you raised your fees and NOW AuctionWatch has this problem? Seems VERY unfair. I hope you are working overtime to fix this problem.

Before you raised your fees because of "new software", why don't you fix the MAJOR bugs your still have with Auction Manager Pro? In the Batch menu, the dropdown shipping option menu NEVER defaults to $0.00 ("choose one" menu item). This simple error is extremely time consuming to work around when you are trying to post numerous auctions. Auction Manager "Pro" should also have a "Copy" function instead of a "drag & drop" to transfer multiple Inventory items to the Batch menu. The batch menu also lacks a column to select "launch times" individually. As a Seller, I should be able to transfer multiple, same, Inventory items to the Batch menu and then be able to select DIFFERENT launch times. To have to do this separately is VERY POOR software design.

Lastly, For the higher fees, how about a 1-800 Customer Service phone number?

I hope these suggestions are implemented SOON!!

PS - How are you planning to reimburse us, not only for our lost time (as it took me 6 hours to bulk list 100 auctions with different auction ending times via Auction Manager "Pro" but also for the lost window to post auctions on a Premium listing day, FRIDAY!
