I just checked my statement and see that the last date charges were posted was 11/2...I had alot of auctions close this past weekend (Nov 3 and 4) and wanted to check my balance...how often are charges posted to my account?

Hi Susan,

Your statement should be updated soon. If it isn't, please let us know.

We went through this last month. Users can't be expected to keep on top of their accounts if AW doesn't cooperate. It is now NINE days since my account(and many others) have been updated, and it's plain unfair that you update on or just before the billing period closes.

Excuse me for interrupting but why shouldn't a user be expected to keep track of how much money they are spending? It's not that difficult to keep track of the cost of an AW transaction. Certainly the user knows how many transactions they listed and how much each auction closed for. My transaction costs are calculated automatically using a spreadsheet which I update everytime I list an auction and update again once the auction closes. The same spread sheet also calculates my bill at eBay.

It only took about 10 minutes to set up a spreadsheet to do this and I always thought that anyone running a business would want to keep an accurate record of their costs in case their was ever a reason to dispute a bill from any of the companies that they deal with...

If you don't keep track of your own expenses how do you know if you are being charged the correct amount? Mistakes in billing do happen on occasion but without a record you would have no grounds to argue in the event that you were overcharged. It's unfortunate that selling on the internet requires time and effort but that's how it is.

I don't have a business, I'm just a recovering packrat. If something sells for less than $1 they still charge .01 but a spreadsheet probably would not see it that way. It would round up but only if it was at least .005. So if someone sold something for .01 (I've seen it happen but I don't list my stuff that low) AW would still probably charge .01 which would then be 100% final value fee instead of 1% and for the 1st 50 auctions it is a .10 listing fee and for the rest of them it is a .05 listing fee and they've been messing around with the fees so much it does get confusing. They had said they were gonna raise the fees in Oct but I didn't see that reflected on my statement until Nov. I have had things sell for .69 and because they charge a minimim final value fee of .01 that means they really charged me almost 1.45%. I think AW and ebay need to look at total high bids for the billing period and charge the final value fee % off of that since that would be more fair. As it is now, ebay at least updates the statements almost real time in most cases. I've never had to wait very long to see something updated. Final Value Fee credits hapen fast and yet for AW it says we may have to wait up to 3 weeks!!! Then after approval it could take up to 3 days to be posted. Why? I don't have to wait long to see what the damages are gonna be to my CC for ebay. AW and ebay are both computer based systems and so if ebay can do it, so can AW.
