Hi Hdoutlet,
Find below eBay explanation for the functionality of their API:
============================================================================
Backward Compatibility issues
A serious compatibility issue may arise with listing, revising, and
relisting functionalities. Your applications will not break, but sellers
must be educated about the their default user preference settings.
The checkout preferences are defaulted to the following conditions:
* Checkout enabled (all sellers)
* Allowing buyers to edit payment (for eBay Payments registered
sellers)
* Not allowing buyers to edit payment (for sellers that are not
registered with eBay Payments)
If sellers list new items, revise, or re-list old items without changing
their preferences when this feature first rolls out, the following will
happen:
* If the seller is eBay Payments registered and previously allowed his
buyers to edit the payment amount, his buyers will not be able to edit the
payment anymore because of the seller's default preference.
* If the seller is not eBay Payments registered and previously
prevented his buyers from editing the total, his buyers will be able to edit
the payment after this feature rolls out because of the default values for
this preference.
To prevent your sellers from being surprised, you should notify them in
advance and encourage them to change their preference settings.
============================================================================
That is:
- go to eBay, and save your preferences WITH Checkout DISABLED;
- go to AW, edit your seller preferences and also disable Checkout;
- synch again (if using AMPro / SMBE);

Ebay says it is under My Ebay-selling-preferences but I do not see it. There are
several posts on the Checkout Forum on Ebay
asking where the link is. I think they
announced it before they put the link in.
AW please update us with more specific directions. I do not want to remove my checkout message from AW until the checkout
box is completely gone from my new Ebay auctions.

I just turned off checkout on ebay. Do I need to specify or not specify checkout here at AW. I don't want to get a bunch of error messages when I list.

We have been able to turn off the Checkout function on eBay, but can not find any way to OPT-OUT or shut it off in our preferences in the online version of Auction Manager.

Hello everybody,
To the best of my understanding, any preference you enable at eBay will override the AW preferences. So, if you opt-out of Checkout at eBay, and check "I am not specifying checkout details" on our site, your auction should go through without a problem with checkout disabled. Note that if you have Billpoint enabled, it appears your customer will still be given the option to "Pay now" using eBay Payments. We are in the process of testing this option under different scenarios, and we appreciate your patience while we do so.
