Hi Biffette,
The WBN mails and their BCC copies are sent in the very same moment. If you chose to receive a copy, then your mail address, is added to the BCC field. If you have received the copy, then for sure, the mail has been sent to the buyer too!
It is strange that she contacted you. Didn't you sent her a WBN? Maybe she changed her email address, and the one present at eBay is a wrong one? (note that the WBN is sent to the buyer address, listed at eBay).

Biffette, I've seen your posts on this topic for several weeks, and I understand your frustration. But I have a quick question: What - exactly - does the "subject" line of your WBN state?
Here's the reason I'm asking. I use Verizon as my ISP (for DSL service) and last month they implemented a "spam" filter. They sent out e-mails announcing this and I opted out - I wanted all my e-mails.
I forgot all about it until a few days ago - when I heard "hey I didn't get an EoA notice" from some of my winners. Well, depending on how the subject is phrased, some people will >never< receive the WBN.
I checked through the Verizon e-mail web site, and sure enough there were valid e-mail messages sent to me that were stuck in the "spam" box. This was even after I told them I didn't want them to perform the check.
So - it >may< not be AW's fault all the time - it may be the ISP of the winning bidder that's at fault.
Still, it will be interesting to hear what AW has to say....

Hi,
There is possibly 6 WBN's that were not sent to my customers after the auctions ended Monday Night. These 6 are from a batch of 17.
It is also possible that there were much more than 6 that weren't sent. Several customers automatically paid through Paypal and no response was sent at all through AW, I'll never know if they receive it and I'm not about to ask. Understand that 3 of these suspected 6 have already confirmed with me that they DID NOT receive their WBN. The other 3 have excellent feedback and one would assume by now that there would be some response. Also I received copies of ALL 17 WBN's, so please do not tell me if I got my copy they have theirs. None of these auctions were Buy it Now's. The email addresses have not changed. What steps are needed here to get this very serious issue resolved! I take pride in my Ebay business and you are making me look very unprofessional.

Hello gottaluve,
With regards to the three WBNs that were confirmed not received by your customers, can you tell us if step 1 in PSM was highlighted? If so, this means that the WBN did indeed go out - your receipt of a carbon copy confirms this as well.
We are investigating as to why a WBN would be sent out by our system but not be received by your customer. It would be helpful if you could provide us with the ISPs of the affected customers, so that we can look for commonalities.
Thank you for your patience while we work to resolve this problem.

Hi Diana,
Two use aol and the other uses mindspring. The other three that I suspect havn't received a WBN (and I still havn't heard from them), one uses lvcm.com, another uses sas.com and one from cs. Yes the PSM key was highlighted when I first checked on it early Tues. morning. I know there were launching problems Monday night at the same time these auctions ended. Could this be stemming from that same problem?

SAME EXACT ISSUES AND PROBLEMS HERE. JUST WANTED TO LET AW KNOW THAT THESE ARE PROBABLY NOT STAND ALONE CASES, AND THAT MOST AW USERS ARE SIMPLY NOT LETTING AW KNOW OF THIS "SERIOUS" ISSUE. LET'S ELEVATE THIS AW, WE ARE NOT JUST PULLING YOUR CHAIN HERE.

Marius: Have you even READ any of the previous posts ether in this thread or the others about this problem?? Obviously not.
"If you have received the copy, then for sure, the mail has been sent to the buyer too! It is strange that she contacted you. Didn't you sent her a WBN? Maybe she changed her email address, and the one present at eBay is a wrong one? (note that the WBN is sent to the buyer address, listed at eBay)"
Yooou are soooo not up to speed with this I'm embarassed for you. You are soooooo incorrect in the statement about me getting a copy means they HAD to have gotten a copy. WRONG!! And then I LOVE "Didn't you send her a WBN?" YYYYEEEESSSSS!!!!! BUT SHE DIDN'T GET IT!!! DUH!!! THAT'S THE PROBLEM!!! She contacted me thru eBay,because she had not received the WBN I sent, the one I got a copy of, the one that turned the PSM box dark blue!!! And she's only 1 of about 10 other ones that have not been received by my winner's!! GOT IT??? GEEEEEEEZ!
It's NOT due to her email being changed, or everyone would have had to change their email that didn't get the WBN's!It's NOT a one time, isolated occurance!! It's happening with many members with many auctions. What's it going to take to get you people there to get this???
You're all talking to us like we're 2 year olds and don't know what's going on. Like you think if you keep saying "if you got a copy and the box got highlited, then they had to have gotten the WBN" that we'll just say "uh.....ok" and slump away with our tails between our legs???
GET REAL AND FIX IT!! And it's NOT a "spam" thing either as this is a sudden, member-wide incident. If it were a spam thing, it would be here and there, inconsistent and infrequent, not all at once suddenly with alot of members.

NO RESPONSES FROM THE WBN
I had 12 auctions end over the past day and not one person responded by filling out the WPN form that I automaticaly send out. One person used the eBay checkout and I told him to use my autorespond WBN form but he never received it. I forwarded him the copy through that is sent to me through my email ISP (not AW) and he immediately sent it back.
This morning I did the same thing with the other 11 auctions and within a 1/2 hour I have received 3 responses and two payments!
So in conclusion - these WBN's do not always reach the proper destination!

Whether you know it or not, most ISPs perform >some< kind of spam detection. Some, like Verizon, set up "dummy" e-mail accounts just to see what kind of mail shows up. They review that account to see the phrasing of the subject and the body just to build rules to make sure that actual users don't get a lot of garbage e-mail.
I know - we don't send >that< kind of mail from AW with a WBN.
BUT - some ISPs just have rudimentary systems in place, and unfortunately your subject line: "CONGRATULATIONS!! You've won..." could place your WBN in a grey area. That, coupled with the text of your WBN, may be a problem.
And don't think I'm trying to say that AW doesn't have a problem. Clearly if a WBN is being sent and a winner isn't getting it, this should be investigated.
SO - AW, you have the server e-mail logs of items that are sent. Are you telling us that mail >isn't< being returned to your account? Is there a 100% track record that >every< e-mail gets out the door? Does anyone even check on these things?

This is such a recurring problem. I have been posting for several MONTHS about the WBN problem. It is so VERY sporatic. Sometimes I get my copy, sometimes I don't. Sometimes my bidders get the copy, sometimes they don't. FORTUNATELY my feedback rating has not suffered as a result of this inadequate serivice as I have been able to stay ahead of it for the most part. I assure you if I hadn't I would be so OUT OF HERE. I do feel though, that a BIG part of the serice I am paying for at Auctionwatch is the WBN. It would be comforting to know that when I see a box checked as if a WBN notice was sent, that INDEED IT WAS SENT. Often times I have discovered it has not been sent. I can only afford so much time to spend writing to Auctionwatch about a problem that does not seem to get solved, it is very often easier and faster to find a work around solution myself as whenever I post that there is a problem which I ASSURE you THERE IS, it does NOT seem to get solved permanently. Ever heard the saying "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different outcome" well there you have it about this WBN problem!!!!!! You provide a good service for the most part. If all the functions worked consistantly it would be a TERRIFFIC service.<br />

For two days now I have been following this thread. I have been having several problems with the WBN not being sent to my customers. I cannot believe Christopher's last post on this. He actually asked if the account shows that the WBN was never sent out! I know now that this is not being taken seriously. WHAT DO WE HAVE TO DO TO PROVE THERE IS A PROBLEM!!!!!!
I don't care what out account says, I don't care if I receive a copy, I don't care if you say - if I received a copy, customer received a copy. The WBN IS NOT ALWAYS BEING SENT TO THE CUSTOMER! PERIOD!!!
Do you guys communicate at all with each other?

RIGHT ON..Gottaluve...I hear you as I HAVE BEEN HAVING THIS PROBLEM FOR MONTHS, and I do mean MONTHS. It is still, I REPEAT, STILL an ongoing problem. It does not matter what my auction manager shows because sometimes it shows them as being sent and they are not and sometimes it does not send me my copy yet they get sent. It is completley unreliable. Not a good way to run a business!
