The new "quick alert" announcement says:
[italic]At this time, launch latency is approaching 60 minutes. This is primarily related to launch demands. Our systems indicate that auctions scheduled to launch at the top of the hour are most impacted by this type of overload.
We have escalated this issue with eBay and are continuing to work with them to improve the performance of their API interface.
We are continuing to work with eBay to remedy this situation.[/italic]
About an hour ago the lag was only 20-30 minutes - now it's about an hour.
But it's only Sunday and this isn't supposed to happen, right?
Sheesh!

Announcements claims there is a "launch latency" of between 50-60 minutes, due to an overload. Hey !! Guess what, this isn't what I pay for. Why doesn't Auction Watch rescind it's fees if they are over an hour late launching any particular auction? After all, Sunday night is a well known heavy period for launching auctions. Clearly, most people schedule their auction launchings for a particular time with certain objectives in mind. Mine are to be late enough west coast time for people to be home, and early enough east coast so people are still up. This is not some new phenomenon. Why aren't you prepared? You are prepared to charge my credit card each month, yet you never assume any liability for your screw ups. Even Ebay is better than you in terms of a policy for down periods. What is your policy...is it ever too late to launch an overdue auction? Clearly something that ends in the AM east coast time may very well suffer. Cancelling auctions cost me money, what does it cost you ?

AW...I hope you are listening...I list with you EVERY week...and it seems that every week my auctions DO NOT launch when they are supposed to. I am trying to make a living at ebay...it is not a hobby for me...it is my bread and butter...and my kid's bread and butter too...PLEASE get this fixed...like others have said, there is a reason we launch on Sunday night at certain times...when you hold up our auctions by an hour it can mess EVERYTHING up!! I think if this continues you will lose lots of customers...I know that people expect to get what they pay for...I know I do, so please do something.

My auctions have been stuck in processing for an hour and a half. When I scheduled them there was ::snicker:: a lag time of "30 minutes". Well, it's now been 90 minutes, maybe you should either fix your watches or learn to tell time. The way I figure time, my auctions have been stuck an hour longer than you stated. What good is having that handy, dandy little announcement, if it isn't correct?

I gave up and unlaunched all of mine as I don't want them ending at midnight or later. I had this problem in October when I last listed and I see that nothing has improved. Does AW even care about the little guys?

2 hours late and still waiting...I think we should all demand our listing fee's be refunded. This stinks!!!!! I work hard all week to get these auctions on and then...they don't launch when they are supposed too.....

My auctions are stuck in processing also. Had I looked ahead and seen there was a problem - I would not have listed. I have been gradually getting away from AW. They are not dependable at all - why pay for something that is not dependable?

After 2 hours 5 auctions finally launched. The other two came up with error messages. Apparently AW didn't know for sure if they launched or not. The message requested I check at ebay before trying to relaunch. Some Service! AND WE ARE PAYING FOR THIS!

Hi Jerry927, to unlaunch just click on the auction and then scroll to the bottom and click the unlaunch. I think you have to do them one at a time so it may take awhile. I had a couple of windows open when I did it.

Hello all,
As you have seen in the announcements forum engineering has been updating for you, there is a launch latency this evening and we are actively working to correct the situation.
Engineering is in contact with eBay directly to work on the performance issues currently being experienced via their API interface.
The latency is currently around 70 minutes, so if you have auctions that you only wish to launch at a specific time and they will not meet that deadline, you can click to view your pending items only on the left side of the page - then select and undo the launch of them.
We apologize for this inconvenience, and hope to have resolution to this error as soon as possible, as well as a plan to avoid this in the future.
If you have any questions on how this situation will effect your listings, let us know. If you have any feedback you would like to leave for us, please feel free to do so in the feedback forum.

The latency problem is more like two and a half hours not 70 minutes. This problem has been going on since way before you started charging us for this service. I thought you would get it together when we started paying but no such luck. I also make my living selling on ebay. Sunday night is the biggest of the week. I guess only people not using your service get to make money on Sunday. GET IT TOGETHER PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After almost three hours of processing all of my auctions just errored out. Thanks for another day of work that I wont get paid for. I suppose you are going to blame this on Ebays API interface also.

Hi busybb,
Please check the cause that errored your listings by pressing Details. The page will display the cause so you will notice if it was an internal error (caused by AW) or not. As a general rule: whenever you want to be sure your listings launch, do an EbayPreview before. Although this will require an extra page view for the item, you will know for sure if the item would launch or will error.

I saw the announcement, and rescheduled my auctions to start an hour earlier than normal. Guess what, they still start an hour later.
You had no problems on your FLD - probably because no one took advantage of it. But for a normal Sunday night, you can't cut it.
UNBELIEVABLE!

AW...I had only 12 of my auctins post last night...and it was more like 3 hours late not 70 minutes...the other 40 or so items errored out...I saw what you wrote a few posts ago...I do an ebay preview of all my auctions...they were fine...the error is AW's not ebays or mine or anyone else...I understand there are problems sometimes...but when you try to blame them on someone else that is WRONG!! I worked 2 days getting these auctions ready to post on Sunday night...Monday morning they are sitting in Pending with error messages...I am looking around for a new service. As an ebay power seller I guess I will have to check out ebays service...AW will go the way of many other dot com services if they do not get things right.

Sounds like a blockage on their land lines...
We're invesitating some site issues with eBay beginning around 6:04pm. Launches are not occuring at this time. (we also are having trouble viewing item pages at eBay ourselves...)
6:36pm: we're escalating networking issues with our shared service provider. some end points on the net are not able to connect to ebay at this time.

For those who do not know how to undo processing launches, click on the auction title. It will take you to your auction page. At the bottom, you can click on "undo launch". Then, go back to the main page and check the box next to the auction. Select delete. Voila! Does anyone know a better launch site?

Well, let's see...this is the second Sunday in a row that there have been "issues" with launching....Is anyone else seeing a trend here? I NEED to be able to have auctions listed on Sunday evenings. This is not a hobby for me, I use my ebay money in order to buy a few luxuries, like food, medications etc...Come on AW, in order for me to pay you, I have to be able to SELL! And I can't do that if my items don't list!

this has been happening for months. I'm sick and tired of it. both ebay and auction watch know that sundays nights are one of the largest days for auctions. They should put some money into fixing this problem, or we are going to have to go elsewhere.
