I recently had windows XP installed on my computer and I no longer have the Icon to click on to start my process of launching my auctions from your site. I have searched and found the folder in my computer for Auction Watch, but have not been able to get a shortcut. I have microsoft internet explorer only now and used to have this and netscape. Is this the problem, or is it windows XP that will not interface with you? HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS IS KILLING ME!!!! What can I do to get back to using this wonderful site?

Hi Grandlakelady,
Our services (online but also offline) are tested to work with WindowsXP. I do not understand your problem so please answer to the following: is there an AMPro / SMBE program installed? (try Start>Run ampro.exe)
If the program does not start, you will have to reinstall it. You may reinstall the program at any time without loosing your personal information (username, password, pictures).
If the program starts, all you have to do is create a shortcut for it on your desktop. Right-click on your desktop->New->Shortcut. The click on Browse and point to the directory and the AMPro / SMBE program (typically c:\ProgramFiles\AuctionWatch\AMPro.exe or c:\ProgramFiles\AuctionWatchSMBE\SMBE.exe)

I went into windows and I have a program called AMPro/exe. This is under my Auction Watch folder. I have tried to open this and it gives me an error (Run-time error '429' ActiveXcomponent can't create object). When I checked properties, I found it was originally setup to run with windows 95. I changed this to windows NT 4.0 as it did not give me windows XP, but this did not help. I have tried to reload, but evidently I'm not doing it correctly, because when I go to your site it just welcomes me. What do I do to reload? I will try to get back to your answer tomorrow if you have been able to get to it that quick. Thanks for your help.

Hi Grandlakelady,
If your original AMPro program was installed under Windows95, you may receive the above error. Reinstall the program but do not delete the existing one, as your account settings and images may be deleted too. Just go to www.auctionwatch.com/my/client and click on FreeDownload or DownloadNow links. Then do as usual: save on the disk, and run the installer.
