Hello, at what point should an item be considered "sold" in my storefront? I clicked on an item in storefront to see how it works and went back to storefront and it was gone. All I did was look at it. I didnt put in any information such as address or billing. Shouldnt it leave my storefornt ONLY after all the billing info and sale is COMPLETE. Thanks!

Hi Camodog,
A shop item is considered sold when the buyer enters billing information.
Please note that a storefront is like a shop shelf: if a potential buyer asks for an item, the item 'disappears' from the shelf, and no other buyer can see it, unless there are more identical items. That's why your item seemed to 'vanish'!

So, in theory I could make all "buy now" items in anybodys store vanish without buying a thing. If this is the case it does not make sense. An item should not go away until it is sold(billing information collected and sale complete). Please tell me I am confused on this. Thanks!

Hi Camodog,

It disappears because it means someone is in the process of purchasing it. This way you avoid two people purchasing the same item at the same time. If you wanted to place it back into your storefront, you can -- simply increase the quantity in storefront total in your inventory by one. I hope this clears things up for you!

I just made an item disapear and only went to the address info. It should stay in inventory until it is bought. Yes you answered my question. It is a poor design. Someone could really cause havic on someone's store. If I wanted, I could make 100 items go away just by clicking into it 100 times. Doesnt make sense. Sorry.

Hi camodog,

Note that there is a timeout on completing a purchase. If the purchase is not completed within 15 minutes, the item will reappear in the Storefront.

We will pass your comments along to our product development team.

Thanks,

Diana

Hello again,
Thanks for giving me the answer I needed to hear. I knew it was not possible that an item would go away without returning if it didnt end up getting purchased. I will give it a try with one of my items and see if it comes back in 15 minutes. Very good! Thanks!!
Nate
