What the heck is going on??? This new post-sale management is not very well thought out. I require sales tax from California residents. How do they know to place it in the boxes? Is there someplace to set a preference that will automatically enter the amount in the tax boxes if they enter California? If so, please tell me how to do it. Plus, I went through the process as if I were a customer, and I was so confused I can't tell you. I went into someone's auction that won three things from me. When I went to my opening page, all three were displayed (ok), but boxes next to each item really confused me. I want to deal directly with my customers if they purchase more than one item from me, so can I turn that part off? If not, they are going to have all the shipping costs added together. when I will reduce them, but I can't put that in a percentage or whatever way I'm supposed to enter as a preference. Also, when they get to the end, they are not told to go to Paypal or given a link to go to Paypal. They think they're done. Please respond to this ASAP!!!
First, to turn off the combined shipping/shopping cart as an option, visit the My Account tab, and click on the Global Preferences link found within.
Uncheck the box labeled 'Enable Shopping Cart' - then scroll to the bottom of the page and save your change.
As for the sales tax, nothing has changed. You still will see the note saying "CA residents add ..." as you always have, and they will need to manually add it. I will however forward along a suggestion for you to add a feature forcing certain states to include it for a future update.
You are correct. When a buyer elects to pay you via an online payment service, they will still need to manually visit the provider to submit payment to you. This step is still not automatic.

Wrong, Chris. There used to be a Step process where the sales tax portion would include some information next to it. I worked hard to word it for people to understand exactly what to do, and that is no longer there. All there is is some boxes to put a sales tax percentage with no explanation next to it. This is a VERY IMPORTANT part of the process to have missed. Please address this immediately!! You are also wrong with regards to the Paypal option. There WAS a link given at the end of the process that told Paypal users to continue on to the Paypal site. This function is not available anymore. All it says in VERY BIG BOLD LETTERS is Congratulations, your order is processed!! That is very deceptive to my Paypal users. I've already had one today that thought they had paid when they didn't.
