Please walk me through this one:

I have 3 items for the same buyer. I have succeeded in combining them. How do I now generate a WBN that offers the combined shipment and stating the amounts of s & h for the 2 types of shipping methods I offer, so the buyer can review the 2 different totals and select the shipping method they prefer?

Thank you,

rpshaver

Hi Rpshaverpaonlinecom,

Go to PostSale on left nav. Then click on the ORDERxx link. In the next page (PostSale | fulfillment checklist) click on the link called "preview", next to Winning Bidder Notification. You will notice (on the lower part of the page) the shipping options you offered for each item in the order, exactly the way your buyer will see.

Yes, I see that, but I need to edit the figures. We discount combined s & h, and we offer 2 different types of shipping, so I will need edit 2 figures.

What I really need is all the items, the one figure for s & h, in each of the 2 different shipping methods.

Please help.

Hi Rpshaverpaonlinecom,

The shipping amounts are taken from the listings specifics. So this information must have been provided at launch time. In what regards the shipping discount, you may change the figures (from My Account, Seller Global) at any time. Note that these values are used at combine time. That is, if at combine time you did not provide a shipping discount, then you have to disolve the order, provide shipping discount information, then recombine the items.

Not easy, or user friendly to do so, apparently.

It will be far more efficient for me to generate my own form letter, than go thru this complicated process you offer.

I agree with the above poster that there needs to be a way for us to combine the orders and then edit the shipping options. I sell mainly books and there are too many variables to be able to offer a flat discount or a percentage discount on additional items. That method is fine if you sell all the same items but you are not providing support for many of your customers with the current options.

Hi Mantczak,
Thank you for the suggestion. I will certainly pass it. For the time being, you can however use credits as an workaround: listings have a shipping amount enough to cover all situations, same goes for shipping discount. At combine time, you may apply a credit (actually a discount) in order to ajust the shipping to the actual value you compute.

The "credits" solution is not a a solution. It would take forever to calculate amount owed and then the needed credit to achieve that, not to mention the confusion it would cause the buyer.

Surely you can come up with a better solution than this for those of use who want to use the combining option?

I would think that it would make it easier if there were a seperate shipping/handling choice area instead of having an shipping/handling choice next to >each< item in the order.

If a person wins 3 items from me, they currently have to choose a shipping/handling choice for >each< item. Instead, can't we have the items listed with their individual costs, then a seperate section so that we can offer one discounted shipping instead of applying a "credit" for shipping.

I filled in a combined WBN for a buyer, and I found it confusing that I had to choose a S/H choice for both items. It just seems that it would be less confusing to have only place to pick S/H.

That's precisely what we need! The whole reason for combining is so that things go in one shipment, correct?

Also, the seller needs to be able to edit the s & h amount from the control panel so they can control the amounts. My s & h amounts are affected by zip code, weight and number of items, so it's not a simple adjustment.

This system will work beautifully once AW understands what we need and implements it. We just need to tell them what we need and hopefully they'll get right to it.

<<hopefully they'll get right to it.>>

More importantly:

Hopefully they'll get it right!
