Christopher,
I combined three auctions that closed this evening.
I edited each one to make sure that the correct value was set before I combined them.
I checked off the three, clicked "combine" and was presented with a Shipping and Handling option on the combination screen.
Shipping and Handling
Use individual items shipping and handling settings.
Use the following shipping and handling settings for the entire order:

So here's a follow-up question that I really can't believe I didn't think to ask before now.
I combined 3 WBNs into one order and sent the e-mail.
Then I broke that order apart to figure out what steps I went through to build it. I then created another combined order.
Do I have to send this second e-mail out?
I mean, it has a new order number, so does the link in the first e-mail take the winner to the new combined order, or does it fail?
'Cause if it fails, then that would explain why so many winners are having so many problems (half of the earlier explanations for how to fix things said to break the combined order apart, fix it, and then combine again).

I too have had a problem with shipping in the combined WBN...I followed the steps and entered the discounted amount for shipping charging $1.00 more for the 2nd item...the buyer went to the checkout process and in the check shipping box it was the same for each item as a single purchase...she was not able to complete checkout...she had to email me and I had to email her back with the correct shipping information...combining items is a great feature...it just needs to work right...help???

I apologize, this feature WAS in fact released Thursday. Unfortunately, customer service and the announcements were not appropriately updated. Quickly, let me explain the message you saw (we will look to improve the wording today as well
This is the often-requested feature (Kahml, you were one of the people in particular asking for this, as I recall!) to allow editing of an order's (combined) shipping. You no longer need to edit the shipping on each item individually; you can combine them and then specify a set of specific shipping options for the order itself, overriding whatever would have been computed. So for example, if you wanted to combine three items into an order and just offer USPS Priority for $5.00, specify that on the combine step 2 page, and that's all the buyer will be allowed to select, for the entire order, when checking out. You can also set/edit this on already-combined orders, by hitting the 'edit WBN' link on the checklist page, and specifying the values there. If you want to simply use the automatic shipping combination rules as before, simply ignore these options--the default will continue to work the way it has since the launch of combined orders.
I do apologize for any confusion this may have caused; we feel this is a very valuable feature enhancement, but its release was not announced/explained sufficiently. I'll try to ensure that the announcements are updated, and the wording is clarified today.

Thank you Ben.
Yes, the feature does require some explanation.
Because the discount that I have set in my profile will only work for US sales. My sales to Canada require a different set of calculations - so this is a step in the right direction.
Now on to the late question: if I break apart a combined order and generate a new order number later, does the link in the first WBN take the winner to the right place?
If you split an order into its components then combine them again, you will receive another order#. So the original WBN link for the initial oreder will not work. However, WBN links for any of the items in the order is equivalent to the WBN link for the order.
