I don't know about anyone else, but I've really had some problems with angry customers leaving important info in the message box in the WBN and me never even knowing the messages were there.

Who has time to be selecting each and every auction to see if it has messages? Especially since the vast majority of the time, there are none, so you prety much get so tired of checking them always for naught, that you just stop checking. And then there's that one important message that doesn't get read!!! I know you now put any messages on the opening page rather than just in the Response page, but that only removes 1 step of a time-inefficient, easy to overlook and unecessarily complicated option. It's fraught with the possibilities of really screwing things up because when customers think they've communicated with you directly, their message actually just gets buried back on a typically unread page!

I mean, the whole thrust of most of your revisions lately is to eliminate the need to ever have to open individual auctions' PSM's, right? So, leaving a very important function within the very pages you are aiding us to never have to read is counter-productive, no?

Why not have the same option, but just have it linked to Seller's email so it goes directly to Seller, referencing the auction ID # (Lord knows the customer's never do) so it can't be overlooked???. Or get rid of it entirely (customers know how to email us without the WBN's help!) - or at least give us the option of including it in the WBN in the first place, or not?

I think this would save Sellers a lot of time and keep us out of hot water.
Thanks

Biffette

I too found that I was missing some important comments...so I made it a practice to check each day to see if the WBN has a response (block #2). If it DOES, I read the response and make a note of any important comments. I then click on block #4 to darken it (since I don't use it for anything else). That way, at a glance, I can at least tell that I HAVE already read the buyers response. Not a prefect solution but it has saved me from missing some important notes.

This isn't a new issue for any of us.

Quite a while ago I asked AW to have the color of the #2 button change to something other than blue if the winner had included any comments.

That request was also logged and passed on to Product Development.

Still waiting..

I'm in total agreement with Biffette. I've been asking AW for at least a year now to rig that message section so that when someone leaves a message there it is also sent out as a separate email. It is a huge waste of time to go through every auction where the #2 box is checked off, only to find that in 75% of them there is no message. Unfortunately it's that other 25% that causes the problems. I have had many buyers get ticked off at me because they asked a question or made a comment in that box and I simply missed it. There's GOT to be a better way for the seller to know when the buyer is leaving something in that message box other than their name and address. Sonya, PLEASE do pass this problem along.

Oh, Yes, I totally agree!! I just had another (of many) who left a message in the WBN notes, and I do not have the time to check them all...I depend on my email for questions and messages. PLEASE remove that message block....Judy of WCP

I agree that this is a problem that should be addressed. My suggestion would be to have all winning bidder responses forwarded directly to us sellers. It would be easier to click through them from our own e-mail boxes and scan them for important notes/messages...

..of course we could all just use Sunday nights to search for winning bidder comments since trying to launch auctions always seems to be futile during this time.
