I do not pack until my auctions end, so I don't know what shipping cost is. Many items are over 5 pounds, so shipping depends on location.
How can I eliminate "checkout" from my WBNs? It let's people assume there is no shipping charge. Checkout is a nuisance.

Does this eliminate the "checkout" and it's your "order is confirmed" stuff? From the info on the Global Preferences page, it sounds like your recommendation only eliminates the combining of items.
20% of my buyers from auctions ended last night send PayPal payments without including shipping due to the misleading nature of "checkout." I do not want "checkout" at all. It is a nightmare. Does your suggestion eliminate it entirely?
I checked your auctions, and saw that some of your closed items from last night had no shipping indicated in them - rather just the wording 'will advise best way' with $0.00 next to it.
The post sale management system was not setup to be used to send a notice out without indicating shipping. Regardless if you want to be able to combine orders or not, you should avoid sending the WBN (or setting it up to go out automatically) if you cannot specify a fixed shipping amount at the time you create the listing. You will want to gather the shipping total and manually fill that into the WBN before ever sending it out. This is why the buyers are sending you the total without shipping, as no shipping amount has been presented to them as of yet.
I realize you do have a note in your default message clearly stating not to submit payment, but you may want to consider emailing them directly for their address (if this is what you use to calculate cost) and send out the WBN for them to complete once you know the actual shipping price. With the system setup the way it is, it can be easy for buyers to misunderstand your terms as people are quick to skip over the actual wording and start filling in the forms.

Christopher-
Thanks for the reply, but I did not have this problem UNTIL "checkout," and I sent WBNs 100% of the time for hundreds and hundreds of auctions. I want "checkout" GONE. How do I get rid of it?
P.S. It is incredibly presumptuous of AW to assume that every auction will include the shipping cost, and build its system to handle them solely that way. Any item over 5 lbs. simply cannot be sent at a fixed cost - distance makes a difference in price. Heavier items are often more expensive items. Does AW not want a cut of larger dollar sales?

Hi twochiguys,
You can disable this option via the My Account tab. From there, click on the Global Preferences link within, and uncheck the 'Enable Shopping Cart' option.
When finished, scroll to the bottom of the page and click the 'Save Preferences' button.
I am happy to hear you have been able to find a workaround to make the post sale tools work for you without shipping amounts, and hope you have better luck with buyers reading/following your directions without the shopping cart enabled.
FYI - Final value fees are not applied to your shipping costs.
