A processing error occured while previewing your listing on eBay.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The venue ebay has possibly returned the following message:

Error 353: Java Script Not allowed.
Either your Description, or Location, or Return Policy has Java script.

<p>Hi, I need to know what's possibly causing this error message I'm getting when trying to Preview an eBay auction. Nothing in this auction is any different from all the others I've listed with no problem. Thanks for your help.

Hi Lottiesmemories,

Please review your auction and make sure that you are using HTML acceptable by eBay. They are strict when it comes to what is placed in an auction, and do not allow some java script codes.

Sonya, Thanks for your reply. But I'm still clueless as to what the problem could be. I use a template for all my auctions which includes just basic HTML 101. That's all I know! Like underline, bold, paragraph, break, blockquote, and center. And I've been using the same template for a couple of years without a problem. I removed the PayPal logo from my auction thinking maybe they had decided it couldn't be used any longer, although I didn't see any notice on their board. And sure enough, it didn't make any difference. The problem can't be in my Location or my Return policy because there's no html there. Do you have any ideas for me?

Hello,

I checked your account, but saw no items in pending with errors. Are you still running into the message? If so, which item is giving you this error message?

I checked one of your items, and that did seem to be acceptable to eBay rules.

Hi Christopher, Thanks for the quick response. I tried copying it to create a new listing thinking the new one might go through but it got the same message. I've just listed another auction and it went through fine so there must be something quirky about this particular auction that I can't see. It's the one (well, there's now two) in pending that's for the Brentwood Charity Cookbook. It's not urgent but if possible will you look at it just to see if you can tell what's wrong. Meanwhile, I'll just retype it again from scratch and hopefully my mistake, whatever it is, won't happen again. Thanks for all your help; it's really appreciated.

Hello,

Ok, I checked this listing again and did find the part that eBay is having trouble with. It is that long line of words with dots seperating them. eBay sees that as JavaScript for some reason. If you put a space between the dots and words, eBay should accept the listing without error.

Christopher, YOU'RE GREAT! I would have never figured that out. Usually I use bullets and only sometimes the dots separating the words but now that I think about it I've always put spaces between the dots and the words. That's why I never had this problem before. Thanks so much for taking the time to figure it out for me. Char
