I am assuming you may be still working on the system. Images will not load, nor will images delete. Sometimes I am just getting a page full of x's on the image page. Think I will give it up for the night and try tomorrow!! Thanks.
I've spoken with engineering, and apparently we are experiencing a bit of latency throughout the site while everything requeues and catches up. This should work itself out shortly.

Hi everyone,
I have a little more detail on what happened today to cause the extended outage.
At about 6:40 am PDT, a simultaneous two-disk failure occurred in our image hosting system. This created conditions under which we were forced to take the system completely offline in order to make the necessary repairs and ensure full data recovery.
This type of catastrophic failure is astoundingly improbable as our system is fully redundant - similar to lightning striking twice in the same place.
It goes without saying that we are deeply sorry for the inconvenience presented this (and I'm sure that "inconvenience" is an understatement!) Again, we are planning to offer some sort of compensation for users who were affected by this outage. We will announce this in the coming days.
Thank you for your patience, understanding, and continued support.

The fact that this may have been a rare occurrence does not deter the fact that AW knew within the first two hours as to the cause of the event and the attending ramifications.
With all due respect, AW did not do a good job of public relations. Hourly postings of the same pre-assembled message over the 10 hour period were grossly insufficient. Since AW has staff that trade on eBay, it would have greatly enhanced the AW PR image by having a staff user post to one or two of the important chat boards and display the necessary communications courtesy.

Dear Auction Watch,
I have a auction running for a necklace that has moving parts and the auction had an animated gif which is the whole sale point of the auction. The gif is now gone and one other image appears to be gone as well. I can't revise it, because it already has one bid. I was counting on a lot more than one bid and I need that animation to get them. I also paid eBay $19.00 to have it featured.
Is your "some sort of compensation" going to cover losses like this and more importantly, how the heck can I fix the auction before it ends?!!
It's 11:00 on the West Coast and does not appear that everything is working okie dokie yet.

I am still having problems with photos. I get 1 of the 2 then hit refresh and the other one shows up with out the original. I will try it a 3rd time an they will all be gone. Just checking to see if this is the norm right now since the outage?
