Why is the shipping method sometimes shown in the "Items To Ship" category (in the column on the far right in green) and sometimes not - showing only "TBD"? From what I can tell, they both scenarios seem to have the same info entered, the customer has responded, the method is "determined" since I only offer 1 method anyway, and all boxes are checked (other than the "shipped" etc., box).

Hi Biffette,

Can you let us know if you have a specific example of an auction that has received a response through the WBN and the payment method is still reflecting "TBD"? We would be happy to look into it for you, but we do need an example to look at.

Thanks,

Diana

Yeah! All you have to do is look in my "Items To Ship" in Post Sale Express - it seems to be only happening with the multiple win auctions. =)

Hi Biffette,

You only use one shipping carrier in all your listings. This is a particular case. While combining listings into orders, by you, the seller, you may opt for:
(1) individual shipping (each item in the order may be shipped individally, according to buyer selection during checkout). As a result no shipping carrier is set at creation time for the order
(2) unified shipping (all items will be shipped together, using a single carrier, selected by the customer during checkout). As a result the shipping carrier is set at creation time for the entire order.

In case (1) above, although you provide only one shipping carrier, this is not 'known' for the order, hence the lack of carrier in postsale ItemsToShip category.

Marius,
HUH??????????? I'm sorry, but the wording in your reply just sounds like alot of gibberish - none of it is really making any sense to me.
Are you saying that in a multiple item order, just because I edit the shipping fees for each individual "additional item", it will say "TBD" even though the only shipping option I have ever entered in any & all my AW preferences, auction creations, etc., & the only option my customers can select is Priority Mail? If so, can someone please explain why that is? What is the rationale?
The reason I edit the shipping fee for "additional items" individually is because the option of charging 1 combined fee for all the items in an order only causes TONS of emails from customers because the fee has no explanation, no detailed breakdown of where their discount is. It just says $10.00 rather than $6.50 for the 1st item and $3.50 for each "additional item". The % option you guys offer doesn't work for my business nor does allowing the full $6.50 to show up on all the items & then doing the application of credit. That way doesn't work efficiently either because, again, there is no explanation next to the credit applied that tells the customer what it is for (for a long time I thought the "reason" you choose/enter for the credit you apply DID show on the customers copy - but found out it doesn't - not at all - it's just for the seller's convenience - the customer never sees the "reason" you enter for the credit) AND the worst thing about doing shipping discounts THAT way is it shows the full non-discounted shipping charges on ALL the items on the 1st page with no indication there will be a credit applied as a discount on later pages, soooooooo.... my customers would stop there, email complaints that they weren't getting the promised discount.
I have no idea why this issue is so complicated for your wizards there to handle, or why the different options are so poorly thought out & laid out. Why can't all the items be listed on one page, enter/adjust the fees & methods right there for each one & be done with it! Seems all the options you have offered us don't really fit anyones needs completely & everyone is doing all sorts of fixes for the options we are now left with. Can't we make it simpler & clearer for everybody???
These are not rhetorical questions - I do want an answer to my initial concern about the way the "TBD" is set up & why - & also the inefficiencies of the other options addressed too please.
Thanks

Hi Biffette,

Thank you for your opinions. Please note that your seller preferences do not allow for shopping cart, and no discount is provided. In your case $6.50 for the first item, $3.50 for each additional), you may provide an absolute discount of $3.00. During checkout, in the very first page, the buyer is informed that the shipping chages will be discounted according to your settings. Please give it a try (add the $2.50 discount in your seller global page). Then combine some items (with individual shipping!) and click on the GoToBuyerCheckout page. You will see the message!
Another solution would be to apply an initial credit to the order you create. Although not displayed at checkout time in the initial page (this is a suggestion I will pass), the credit is displayed both in the checkout's final page, and on the invoice (this is the second suggestion I will pass: email invoice to buyer)
