Under Global preferences there are shipping options for "Priority Mail (fixed)" and "Priority mail (calculated)", but these options aren't available to me in my inventory or when I create a new auction. The only priority option available is "Priority Mail", and I've tried leaving the shipping method blank, but I get an error dialog box when I do, and then also forces me to enter a fixed price for shipping which is not what I want.
Additionally, I entered the weight on an inventory item, and it doesn't seem to be affecting any sort of calculated shipping. When I go to my storefront & add it to my cart, it gives me fixed price shipping, and this item is over a lb. Please help.
Also, it won't let me enter package dimensions either...it will accept weight, but not the dimensions.
I've been messing with this for well over an hour and a half, and I'm getting extremely frustrated. It's been about 2 months since I've been selling due to personal reasons, and if I can't get up & running soon, well...

Hi Icebox13,
USPS Priority calculated shipping option, automatically calculates the shipping amount at checkout time based on the item weight, seller ZIP, and buyer ZIP. It only works inside US (both ZIP must be US).
The solution to your problem is simple: click here to enter your MyAccount > GlobalPreferences page, and fill in the "Ship items from zip code" field, then save the settings. The USPS Priority (calc'ed) shipping option will be available.

Thanks Marius, but that's not entirely correct. However after sleeping on it, I figured it out. I'd already had all of my settings set, including the zip code, and saved, and it still wasn't working.
What did work is that I selected "Priority Mail (calculated)" and selected the checkbox next to it, then saved it, and then the option was available. Perhaps this belongs in the FAQ section?
Also, I figured out why I couldn't enter package dimensions. It doesn't accept decimal values, only whole numbers, so if I use the Priority Mail box 1092, I have to round to 13 x 12 x 3 as an approximation. Perhaps this is a bug? I don't understand why a decimal weight is acceptable but a decimal length, width, or height is not.

My bad about the checkbox! I only gave you some help on how to activate that shipping option. You are definitelly right: if you want to use some shipping option for inventory items, that shipping must be selected in SellerGlobal page.
Please notice that the parcel dimensions are not mandatory. They are present for future use (adding some new calculated shipping carriers). These fields are not required for USPS Priority calculated. Nevertheless, I will escalate as this is a bug - users should be able to enter dimensions with decimals.
