Hi there,

I am having difficulty making sure the correct postage rate is charged for customers. I need to use non-American rates and there are different rates for groups of customers who belong to each particular postage zone. The only solution I have been able to come up with is place a postage charge calculator in my description and let each customer calculate his own. But this will not produce accurate records. Help!

PS. It's also annoying that weight is a required field in Sales Manager as I don't need this function and have to enter it each time.

Hi Eatthelabel,

Unfortunately there is only a calculator available for USPS Priority calculated -- if you use other rates, or if you try to use that one to calculate the rate you want, it won't work. A good solution for you, since you already have a calculator in your auctions, would be to instruct the winners to email you right when the auction ends what their zip code is and then calculate the rate, insert it into the WBN and then send it.

There is a preference in Global Preferences that you can check which will only ask you to calculate the weight if you are using the priority calculated option. This way you won't have to always enter it in, if that option is not selected in your shipping area.

Sonya

Have done as you said but I can't seem to change the text for my WBN or the welcome text for the checkout screen. I'v tried to put information requesting winners to contact me for shipping rates in these and when I try to save he seller preferences I get the following error message "Error: Auto-send intervals must be between 1 and 45 days. Please click here to review your settings."

Is there any plans to update the software to be a bit more non-American friendly?? I can see from the options that you have done a great job on American shipping details and it just makes me so jealous!!

Hello,

What page are you on when you get the errors? Is this from post sale management options?

Regarding shipping -- I will log a request with product development for other rate calculations.

Sonya

Sonya,

Don't worry, I have updated the fields in Sales Manager and sychronised and this has fixed the online fields.

Regarding the postage calculation, I could write a calculator in Visual Basic, as it's a pretty simple thing. But how would I link the files so that customers could access the calculator. Should I just put a link in my item description? But where should the calculator file be hosted. I have seen another ebayer with this feature in his item descriptions but I was not sure if he has used a calculator that's already on the web and just put in a link.

Kind regards, Kirsten

Hello,

If you have the HTML for the rate calculator you can stick it in your item description and it should show up in the auction correctly, provided your tags are all correct. You may want to use the eBay Preview feature to double check.

Sonya
