Hi AW, I'm having a terrible time with image hosting today. I try to download new images and the bar starts to move at the bottom of my page and after about 1/4" it freezes up and freezes my whole computer. I have to manually shut down the computer to get online again. Now yesterday I downloaded a zone alarm site that protects against hackers and email virus. Is it possible that this is the problem? It has not affected any other website that I have been into including other areas of AW. I even just manually deleted 240 pics of sold items. Thought perhaps that I had too many images in your image hosting site. Tried again and the same thing just happened. It has happened 4 times. Help! Please advise. I have many images to download prior to my Thursday night ebay listings. Steve

Hi Sonya, that is kind of a drastic step. I just paid $40.00 to download and install it. Don't know If they will issue me a refund if I uninstall. I don't think that I can just shut it off and on at will. If there is a way I don't know how to do it. I guess I could contact them but I doubt if it can be resolved by tomorrow. Wish I had a phone number for them. Are you 100% sure that that's the problem. I need AW image hosting more than I need the zone alarm But it sure woukd be nice if I could have both. Thanks, Steve

Hi Steve,
Zone Alarm is a firewall -- if you can somehow open it, and tell it to allow AW access, that should work. Unfortunately I'm not really familiar with how zone alarm works, so hopefully there is some kind of a help guide that can instruct you on how to properly do this.

Hi Sonya, thanks for the input. I found a phone number for zone alarm but it doesn't offer technical support. I will uninstall their zone alarm and load my images and when they respond to my email I'll try to figure it out from there. Just curious as to why it works in all other AW areas and all my other websites - just not in AW image hosting. I had a feeling that they were the problem because I never had this type of image hosting problem before. Thanks again, Steve

Hi Sonya, just wanted to let you know you were right on the money! I couldn't figure out a way to temporarily close out the firewall and hadn't heard back yet from Zone Alarm Pro so I uninstalled the whole site. And my pics flew right on. Thanks for your help. Do you know perhaps any other Firewall sites that I can use without running into the same problem? Steve

Hi Steve,
Unfortunately, we are unaware of a specific firewall program you could run that would automatically setup your preferences for you. Check your zone alarm settings, there is most likely an option to give access to specific domains, such as AuctionWatch, so you could continue with that program.

Hi Christopher, while browsing around in the Zone Alarm Pro site I did find an area that I thought might allow me to select a site such as AW and shut it off and on at will. The page asked for a site URL. I put in auctionwatch.com and it didn't work. Perhaps that wasn't enough of a URL. What should I have put in. Thanks, Steve

Hi Christopher and Sonya, finally got it resolved. Sonya suggested I put in as the URL www.auctionwatch.com. So I reinstalled the firewall and slogged my way through their site until I found the area again that requested a URL to give access to a particular site. Hey, it worked. My firwall is in and the images fly on to your image hosting with no problems. Since I got DSL I can load 8 images in about 30 seconds. Whereas it used to take about 10-15 minutes on a dial-up access. I do appreciate all of our help. As usual you guys saved my butt. Thanks again, Steve ---P.S. Zone Alarm Pro is not very customer orientated or cooperative. They still have not responded to my request for help.

I wanted to ask Cyberageart to confirm exactly what they did with ZA Pro. I have been SO FRUSTRATED with this problem. I have already added ZA's website as a Trusted Zone, Program and have allowed all access. I didn't uninstall it to do that, but I still can not load the images. I have also left a rather harsh message with ZA's customer service (as they don't have tech support)dept. and don't really expect a response. Have you heard anything from them? Were you able to reload the software after you uninstalled it? I hate to have to do this, but I don't know what else to do. Does anyone know anything about the particular types of settings in the advanced settings features ie allow incoming ping, allow outgoing ping, incoming ICMP, outoing ICMP, IGMP's and which particular type of connection auctionwatch needs acces to be able to upload one of my images. It is really odd, as I can move/copy/add back and forth from my office and have made no adjustments on ZA in order to do that. Let me know if you have ANY helpful advice.

HI Kofa, coincidently just after my problem with ZA Pro my computer crashed due to an Earthlink problem and I stupidly screwed things up. Had to bring the laptop in to my trusty repairman and he reloaded everything from scratch. When he got to the ZA Pro he looked for a page that allowed me to access certain sites of my choice. We entered the Auctionwatch URL as www.auctionwatch.com and since then I have had no problem with my images. Try and find that page and that should resolve your problem. I agree that ZA Pro is of no help at all. Steve
