I was wondering why winning bidders often ask if I accept direct credit card payments? The last person gave me a clue as to why the question might arise. below is what she wrote regarding the "Checkout/Shipping Billing Info" part of the checkout process.
------------------------------------------
CC payments are not an option in the drop-down box, but just below the box it says: "Please enter your billing address. If you will be paying me directly via a credit card, make sure the billing information exactly matches your credit card statement. (This does not apply for c2it, PayPal, or other indirect payments.) Required fields are bold.* " This leads me to believe you accept direct CC payments (as opposed to those accepted via Paypal). I'm trying to verify this information and find out if I *can* pay you directly with a CC. *smile*"
-------------------------------------------
Although my auctions do state all payment methods clearly 3 times prior this part of the checkout process. It is kind of confusing and leaves the direct credit card question up in the air. what do you think?

Hello,
That is standard text that is included with each buyer checkout. The buyer should see that your payment methods are shown in the dropdown menu above that statement. I can log a request with Product Development to have this statement altered if you like.

Problem would be solved if shipping address section was first and billing address section was marked as required only if the buyer was paying by credit card. Maybe the billing address section disappears altogether if the seller doesn't accept credit cards directly.
This is one of the areas of confusion that causes buyers to not want to use the checkout or to abandon it before completion. And the fix is so simple.
