I had ten of my ebay auctions, some of which had bids, ended today because the paypal logo was 184 x 33 pixels. Ebay guidelines only allow 88 x 33 pixels. I have discovered the logo was inserted by Auction Watch. The only way to remove this logo is to remove Paypal as a payment method from my seller preferences. Has anyone else had this problem? I did receive a warning prior to having Auctions ended by Ebay. I thought it was a Paypal error and emailed them, boy was I wrong. Is Auction Watch going to correct this or do I have to change my preferences?
The only PayPal logo I see is the one that is automatically being inserted by PayPal (according to your currently active auction). I would recommend disabling that feature in PayPal, it should be the one that automatically inserts a logo. We have recently changed our listing form to accomodate ebay's new addition of PayPal on their listing form -- you can activate that in Global Preferences so that it actually appears in your listing, rather than afterward, as an edit.

In the current auction we took out the paypal under auctionwatch seller pref. When previewing an auction for ebay if I have the PayPal radio button checked and in my preferences I have selected "Include only the PayPal logo in my listing" it inserts a banner which is called
"http://wsacp.auctionwatch.com/img/acp/logos_all.gif"
which is sized at 227 x 26 pixels. As the URL for this image is a auctionwatch.com address i assume this is what you insert for that radio button.
ebay's email states that
"eBay recognizes that many sellers use third party services to perform essential functions related to their listing, and that there are legitimate reasons for crediting such companies in their listings. For example, some companies offer picture hosting, counters, listing software and payment facilitation services. In exchange for providing their service, some third party companies require or request that they receive 'credit' or recognition for their service within the eBay listing.
We allow such credit within the following guidelines:
eBay will permit listings that contain a small, discrete identification or 'credit' to third parties that provide services or products directly connected with the particular listing or that allow a seller to aggregate their eBay listings.
The credit may contain the following to identify or credit the company offering the product or service:
Text (HTML font size 3) AND a logo (88x33 pixels)"
I recommend doing what I suggested before, which was to disable the automatic insertion of the other paypal logo at the end of your listing. The logo that you referenced is what eBay inserts for PayPal when you have it selected in your preferences.

Sonya,
Are you telling me that Ebay is responsible for putting in a logo that is not within Ebay Guidelines. When I check the properties on the logos that are the Wrong size they appear to me to be coming from Auction Watch not Ebay or Paypal. I have tried to get this question straight by contacting Ebay Paypal and AW. It seems nobody wants to owe up to the offending Logo.
All seem to think their logo is the correct size. Meantime I had auctions ended. I firmly believe it is the new logos AW is putting in automatically since I have only had this problem recently. If AW logos are the incorrect size other users Will have this problem also.
Thanks
I am going to need to look into this a little further because that logo is also the one that gets inserted when you create a listing directly on eBay, and you select PayPal as a payment option. It is the same logo. With all the recent changes made with the addition of PayPal in the eBay Listing Form, there are bound to be some issues.

Sonya,
Thank you. Please let me know what you come up with. Also I never list through Ebay. I only list online through AW. So I don't quite understand how you can pick up a logo from Ebays listing form. Does using AW online use this form?
It does not appear that the reason ebay ended your auctions was because of the logo that we insert -- it was due to a logo that had been in your default text that was the size of 184 x 33 pixels. However we are still looking at this issue closely regarding the other one. Thanks for your patience.

Hello Sonya,
I had removed all Paypal logos from my new auctions. Today I was doing new listings and decided to give the auction watch Paypal logo another try. I noticed that it is now 25 x 16 pixels. Previously it was 227 x 26 Pixels. Does this mean you have finally come to the conclusion that the logo was indeed to large and corrected it? If so I thank you for your help but would really have appreciated it if you had let me know. It is really frustrating when something is wrong and no one wants to admit it. I had emailed Paypal also since they too were automatically inserting logos of an incorrect size. They didn't want to admit they were wrong either. Anyway it seems the problem is now corrected. Again Thanks
