Every time I have listed an auction, the Gallery photo does not show up. I have reported it a couple of times and have had to go into the e-bay and do a manual revision.

Am I doing something wrong. I'm talking about the Gallery photo that shows up on the auction title line that is .25 cent feature.

Does anyone else have this problem? It wastes too much time putting it in manually. Plus, if I don't, I still get charged the fee.

Thanks for your help!

Hi Coolaunt,

The picture will show -- it usually takes the gallery at eBay about 4 hours to update with the gallery image, so try not to be too concerned unless it has been much longer than that.

This was happening to me to, I selected gallery photos for all my auctions, and for several auctions, the gallery photo wasn't showing up.

THEN I discovered that choosing a photo for the gallery doesn't automatically select the gallery option for you. You need to make sure you check off both the gallery option box AND select a photo, otherwise it won't show up.

Would be kind of nice if AW would combine those two steps, as I think it is reasonable to assume that if you've selected a photo for the gallery, that you indeed would like to choose the gallery option as well. I'm having trouble thinking of an instance where this wouldn't be true.

MAYBE this is what happened with you too. Let us know!

Hello,

The reason the steps are not combined is because you can choose any image that you want for the gallery. Gallery image selections are not limited to what you have selected for a specific listing.

"The reason the steps are not combined is because you can choose any image that you want for the gallery."

Uh... yes - that's true. So every auction, if you want a gallery photo you have to select a gallery photo independent of the other photos you've chosen for the gallery. That's true.

Maybe I didn't explain properly. There are two steps right now to selecting a gallery photo. 1) you select the gallery photo, and 2) you check the box saying you want a gallery photo.

If you ONLY check the box and try to save the auction, you'll get an error message.

if you ONLY select a gallery photo and DON'T check the box, you WON'T get an error message, but your gallery photo won't show up in ebay.

If these two steps ALWAYS must be done in tandem, why can't there be just one step?

And that one step would simply be if you select a gallery photo, then you want the photo to be in the gallery for 25 cents.

If AW still insists on two steps, then if ONLY the photo is selected, but not the box checked, there should be an ERROR MESSAGE so that the user will go back and check the box, or unselect the photo.

Hello,

An error message does appear, if you try to select only one step -- the auction won't launch and it will tell you that theres a gallery problem.

There are other options for the gallery beyond the 25 cent picture preview option. That is why this must be done in two steps.

I'll concede that there are other options so you must have two steps, but you will not receive an error message if you select a photo, but do not select one of the gallery options. I just tried it in one of my pending auctions, and i didn't get an error message.

This is exactly how my gallery photos didn't work for a few of my auctions.
