I thought we were going to have the option of exporting our closed auctions into Excel Spreadsheets? This was in a questionnaire way back when!
Whenever I try to do it ... it works ... of at least, it looks like it works ... but there are two huge problems:
1) All the hyperlinks are still in the spreadsheet ... and they have to be deactivated one link at a time (ugh!). Makes the spreadsheet hard to work with - everything you click on opens another auction!
2) I cannot ADD any of the columns (i.e., do monthly running totals, etc.). First I thought it was because I had an extra row ... I deleted those. Then I thought it was because I had merged cells -- nope. Nothing works (and I am pretty adept at spreadsheets).
Has anyone had success in doing this? My accountant would sure be happy ... and so would I ... if I could do this. Thanks!
You should check your settings for Excel -- I tested downloading the archive and was able to insert columns, manipulate the archive, etc. There were no active hyperlinks in mine either so it looks like it could be a settings issue.

I have also been experimenting with downloading closed auctions with my accountant. Problem is they need to be archived in order to be downloaded and I am still working with some that are in the period we need access to. This is really a problem around tax time. Ideally we'd like to be able to go straight into quickbooks with much of the data, generate a daily deposit report etc.

Sonya - thanks for the post. As always, your advice is good and I will experiment with setting ... but like my colleague just posted ... it would be ideal to be able to go from "closed" auctions into an excel spreadsheet each month. Anything you can do to help would be greatly appreciated!
