Some of my items weigh 12 lbs. The winners of these aren't able to return the WBN with their pmt. info. One told me it states "shipping had to be a large package". I key in the weight and size with AW when I list the item and they are not considered large by USPS standards (over 108" ). I am also unable to manually enter their info with the "edit" feature in Sales Manager. I get an error message with something about "API". Help, please?! Thanks.

Hello,
What is the item ID number for this item? I will take a look at it.

Hello,
Is this happening to all of your items that you have keyed in as 12 lbs?

Yes, it has. Have you figured it out yet?

Hi Tynah,
It looks like your box size and weight is being rejected. I will need to look into this issue a little further as this is the first time I have seen this error. Has it always happened, or is this the first time you are listing items of this size and weight?
Regards,
Sonya

This has been happening several weeks or more. I don't think I had 12 pound items before I started listing those items. Thanks for your help. I do know I've tried to edit the buyers info when they didn't return the WBN and got that API shipping error. A buyer today was the first that told me they couldn't get it to work. Thanks!

Hello tynah,
What are you entering for box dimensions? I believe that the box has to be under a certain size in order to ship via USPS Priority.

The boxes are 20 x 16 x 16. I take them to the PO and mail by Priority. (not oversized according to their guidelines) The size my vay somewhat but not much. Thanks.

Does anyone have an answer to my problem yet? Is there a glitch in the Priority calc when I am creating an auction or what? Thanks.

Hello,
Thank you for your patience. You have indicated that the dimensions are 20" x 16" x 16" but the saved dimensions on the items are 25" x 25" x 20". According to USPS, the length would be 25" and the girth 25" + 20" + 25" + 20" = 90", giving a total measure of 115" - which is an Oversized item - hence the error.
Please edit yor items via edit inventory/edit auction/edit WBN pages in order to set the right dimensions for inventory/pending/closed items respectively.
The "Calculate shipping API error, please try again later" means a transient
error from USPS and the problem should resolve shortly.
Regards,
Sonya

Thank you Sonya, So does that mean AW isn't able to determine the shipping cost if the box is oversized? Sorry, but I had forgotten the exact dimensions of those boxes. Thanks for your help.

Hi Tynah,
The cost can be calculated on items that aren't considered oversized by USPS Priority. If you continue to have trouble setting your caluclated shipping let us know.
