Does anyone have any tips on using the archived sales records to do reports for taxes? I don't know much about excel, but I'm sure there must be an easy way to do this. Any help will be very much appreciated!!

Archive all paid auctions through 12/31/02
Download data in excell format, depending on how many transactions you may want to down load by the quarter or by the month. Open in excell, you'll need to use some simple formulas to add up varios columns, gross sales, sales in your state (for sales tax) and sales outside of your state (usually tax exempt). You may want to speak with a tax professional regarding what you need specifically.

thanks davebraun.......
But I have already discovered a couple of problems with this simple approach.
1. I archived all my auctions, so that means I also have the ones that I had deadbeat bidders on and received no payment. Okay I caught it and went thru my records and deleted those.
2. I just discovered that on Orders there is a record sent for each auction and a record sent with the total amount for all auctions combined. So basically if you sum the "Closing Price" fields your total will include those auctions in Orders twice. My solution is to sort by "Order Id" and delete all those rows that end up in the beginning of the file that have an order id.
I have one problem that I haven't figured out yet. The amount that I have paid to USPS thru my paypal account doesn't match the amount that I get when I sum the "shipping" and "insurance" columns. It should be alot closer than it is.
Any ideas?

How I do it - is daily. When I get a payment from billpoint, paypal, money order - that is recorded in quickbooks pro - as an ebay sale, etc. Simple bookkeeping - and at the end of the year I am ready (except to pay) for tax time. I can't imagine doing it any other way. One perk - is the guarantee to not miss a paypal or billpoint payment - as every couple of days I reconcile my bank statement online via my accounting software - doesn't make - means a missed payment. No surprises!!
