Hi - Thought I'd try automating my WBN notices and let AW do it. I filled out my letter - no problem. But I'm stumped when it comes to the shipping.
I sell unique items - each is different and the weights often change. For example, I might charge "$5.00 if (the buyer) lives east of the Mississippi and $6.00 if they live west of the Mississippi". Depending on the weight, these amounts might be (5/6), (6/8), (8/13), etc. I also offer fixed shipping of $4.00 (on items that fit in a fixed priority envelope and will be offering media mail for books.
The appropriate amount is always listed in the auction. I'd like my WBN to say something like 'please check the auction listing and add the appropriate postage' (or something to that effect). How can I do that??
There are no options where the buyer can enter in their shipping cost manually, so you will want to be sure that for each shipping scenario you have avialable, there is a fixed price option to choose from when you create the listing. You could use the available custom fields to say 'shipping east of...' and the other 'shipping west of....'

What custom fields?? I'm looking under 'Seller Preferences' and there are just four available options (shown are 'Priority', 'First Class', 'Media mail' and <blank>. Is this the right place?? If so, I need more than four options. And where would I specify 'east of Mississippi' and 'west of Mississippi'??
AW is making this way too difficult. I just want a generic 'look at the auction for the shipping' letter that also gives my address, email address (for electronic payments), etc. I *DO NOT* want to specify the shipping amounts since that changes with every auction and depends on where the buyer lives.
You dont have to list all of your shipping options in your preferences, just in the listing itself. Ignore the preferences page unless you want to list shipping options that *will* apply to all auctions you launch.
In the listing form itself, there are two blank boxes you can use to put in specific types of shipping.
Using your own example, you could type into these two boxes :
1. "USPS East of Mississippi" : $5
2. "USPS West of Mississippi" : $6
