Hi guys, haven't been in touch for awhile. Still in France .Using my IBM laptop with Windows 98 as a boat anchor and purchased a Dell Inspiron with Windows XP. One problem - can't figure out how to load images. Still using Kodak image loading software, although had to update it to accept Windows XP. Now here is how I used to do it. After loading and renaming all my images on to the computer through Kodak, I went to AW. There I clicked Manage Images and then Browse. next step was to click on C Drive-next screen right click Kodak pictures. Next left click select-images show up as a date. Right click date-click select - all named images show up. Then just select an image-open and etc. etc. Upload! Can't even get to AW with the new computer. Loaded all the images in OK on Kodak but can go no further. When I go to AW - nothing is there. Any suggestions and advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Steve

Hey Sonya, Christopher hello is anyone home? How about an answer to my problem. Can't upload images with my new computer. HELP!!!!,
When you click on the Browse buttons now, you will need to navigate to where your images are currently stored. It is usually easiest to start from the desktop, so click on browse and use the drop arrow at the top of the page to choose the desktop first.
Then it is just a matter of browsing to where you have been saving your images. You would just doubleclick on 'My Computer' - then the 'C' drive - then the 'Kodak' folder perhaps? Just double click on the folders to find the path to where these images are.
Once you have located them, future visits to this page should automatically browse directly to that folder.

Hi Chris, no luck!---that's the way I always transferred my images. But it wont work with XP. I know I'm doing something wrong or leaving out a step but I can't get the images to show up. What I am getting after going through all the regular steps is a folder showing up in the box where the the named images usually show up. This folder has four thumbnails displayed on it. Those are 4 of my images. But I can't open up the folder. No matter what I do it either sits there and laughs at me or disappears. Any further help would be greatly appreciated. I have loads of new images to upload and I'm doing them the old fashioned way on the IBM laptop that is going to die any moment. It's a shame to have this brand new laptop and not be able to use it for all my sites. HELP!!!!! Thanks Steve

Chris, just reread your email. I think part of or all of the problem is that after clicking on desktop-----c drive and then I usually clicked on Kodak Pictures. But Kodak pictures is not there! The only way I was able to get as far as I have with getting that folder to show up was through My Documents/My Pictures. So If I can get Kodak Pictures to show up it might solve the problem! Steve
Have you tried putting your images on your desktop and then uploading from there? See if you are able to get them to upload this way, let me know if it does not work.

Hi Sonya, please go into this in a bit more depth. You are talking way above my payscale here. My knowledge of computers is basically boiled down to a few sites and hardly any knowledge of tech stuff. I use it for AW-ebay-Paypal and that's about it. thanks, Steve
My apologies. The reason I suggested uploading from your desktop is because you indicate you've had trouble opening up the folder through the 'browse' link. Go to the folder on your computer that contains your images and drag one or two of them to your desktop. Then go back to Vendio, click on 'Browse', and point it to your Desktop. You should see the images there, where you can proceed with uploading. If you don't see them then the problem could be with the images so let me know what happens, if you are able to do this.

Hi Sonya, good thought but no cigar. I tried dragging one image and all that happens is a set of small squares moves and then disappears when I try to drop them on the desktop. I thought I had found something when while diddling around with the pics I accidently clicked just below one and a space came up for a name. Eureka! I said I just have to rename each one and lo and behold there they will be waiting for me in good ol AW. Fuggeddaboudit! No such luck. All I can get is the same names that I had given them originally when I loaded them on Kodak Pics and the same silly liitle folder with the 4 pics that I have no idea what to do with. I click on ( I am right clicking and hitting select where required as before) browse-desktop-my documents-my pictures(Kodak Pictures never shows up) and it all disappears. Why, do these geniuses at Microsoft have to fix something when it aint broke?. It worked so well before on W98 and now with their supposedly better than sliced bread XP I can't get it to work. I really don't know where to go from here. I wish someone else that loads with Kodak and XP would read this thread and offer some help. I know it is difficult for you guys to try and solve it without being hands on. Wan't to come to France for a quick vacation and help? LOL!. Please put your heads together and hopefully come up with a solution. Thanks so much, Steve
You have it set to view all files when you are looking for your images, correct? It looks like it's a problem with the computer but to be sure, I'd like to get one of your images from you and upload it from my end. If you would like to try this, let me know and I will send you an email to get the image.

Sonya, Sounds like a good plan to me.Have no idea though what you mean about viewing all files when looking for images. Please remember I am computer illiterate. But I sure do a good job on ebay. They just made me a Silver Power Seller. Whoopie! Sure wish i could take that to the bank. Please send the email for an image. I have 17 images on there and I will try and seperate one out to send. If I tried to send all at once it would be too large. I've been trying to pull just one and have been having trouble doing that also. These are pics of our house here in france and when I try to email to family, I get a message that the file is 4.05MB and most computers won't accept more than 2MBs. So if I can't pull one I'll just take a new pic and send that one to you when I receive your email. Thanks for sticking with me on this one.You have always been there for me over the past three years and I do appreciate all your efforts and hard work. Thanks, Steve
Before I get an image for you let's try one more thing. When you click on browse and the Choose File pop up appears, select "All Files" for Files of Type. Then go to your Kodak image folder and see if you are able to select the images. If you can't, let me know and then I'll send you the email. Thank you for your patience with this!

Hi, better send the email. No matter what I do or click all I can get is that silly little folder with four images on it. have no idea where the other 13 are. When I right click or left click in that folder the date of the pictures comes up in the address bar and the folder disappers. Sure you don't want to come to France? Steve P.S. You are the one with the patience. You have all those other people to worry about and help. All I have to worry about is me.

Sonya, I just uploaded some images from ebay on the old IBM. Noticed the box you referred to as "All Files" after clicking "Browse". That box is not showing up when I click "Browse" on the new Dell with XP. Could that be part of or the whole problem? Will email you an image from the Dell later. Thanks, Steve
