I would like to use a clean white no-theme template with clickable images on the right. When I go to Template Builder and choose Layout: Images on Right; Category: Standard; Style: No Theme; the Preview shows me exactly what I want but I can't Save it. I get an "Internal error 12014" message instead. What am I doing wrong. Is there a list of meanings of error messages in the help pages somewhere?

Unfortunately, you cannot create a new template based on the 'no template' option. The system will not allow you to create a new blank template with a specific layout. The blank template will always list all of the images in a row at the bottom, centered.
