Hi Vendio Staff,

I hope all is well with you. If you live in the North Eastern U>S> I'm sorry about all the rain. Try to enjoy your weekend anyway.

I've just begun to post a few comments in the Storefront area because I try to focus my business there, however I do use all of the functions offered within Vendio and I do launch auctions, although infrequently.

I wanted to offer the following suggestion regaring the inventory area. I work with United States First Day Covers. They are basically special envelopes with U.S. stamps on them. I only mention this becuase the Titles I use are based upon the stamp's category or topic (and it aides in my suggestion.)

I recently decided to update, and subsequently remove some or all of the Statehood Anniversary Stamps from my inventory of which there are about 20 plus different U.S. States. While using the search feature within inventory I had to keep selecting a category of which I have six or so, and selecting or retyping the topic. Once an inventory item has been edited the inventory listing from the previous search is "lost" or at least the page simply defaults or reverts to the entire inventory listing.

My suggestion is to program using some kind of cookie maybe, so that the search feature within inventory retains and remembers the list I was just utilizing. It really is a waste of time to keep having to research for the same inventory items 20 times just to perform some simple updates and editing.

Also, how about printer friendly inventory listing minus all of the html, just basic text for the search items of extracted.

I've posted in the Storefront area regarding the external Storefront Search shortcomings and had gotten a reply for Sonia that the problem was being looked at.

I just want to add the SEARCH and database extraction, information parsing, whatever the techies call it these days, is the foundation for the success of the entire Internet. Look at the initial success of Yahoo and the now expanding success of Google.

If your company doesn't take the search functions either external and available to the world in the storefront or internally and being used by your paying clients everyday within the Inventory area more seriously how will it be successful. High tech well thought out and tight search code and capabilities make working online efficient. Without a good search function, all is lost, time that is.

Thanks for listening to my long winded speach. I hate when I do that!

Best regards,

Matt
