Vendio now offers two additional ways to automate your business.
1. We now automatically "check" post-sale step 9 when buyers provide eBay feedback!
When your buyer submits feedback for you at eBay on your transactions, we will receive a notification of that event and check-off Step 9 in your post-sale checklist. This automation applies to auctions, dutch auctions, fixed price items, and multiple quantity fixed price items. For dutch auctions and multiple quantity fixed price listings, we will check Step 9 only for the post-sale order applicable to the buyer who submitted feedback. If a single buyer purchased multiple quantities from the same listing, we will identify the feedback according to the buyer's id and properly assign it to all of his or her orders.
2. We now automatically initiate post-sale for eBay BIN and Fixed Price items!
When someone buys your eBay fixed price item or uses BIN to purchase one of your items, we will automatically enable checkout and initiate post-sale for that purchase with no effort on your part. Checkout and post-sale will continue to work as usual for auctions and dutch auctions.
While we expect this new automation to be relatively seamless, we rely on eBay to deliver these event notifications to us. In the event we do not receive a feedback notification, you may not see this automatic checking of step 9 for a certain feedback submittal. We may also on occassion not receive a purchase notification to initiate automatically post-sale for BIN items. In the event we do not receive purchase information automatically, you can always initiate post-sale on an item manually or use Post Sale Acceleration (using your MailStep or Vendio e-mail address). You should also occasionally review your feedback more generally to ensure it matches the records we have for you.
We are excited to offer this new feedback notification and post-sale automation at no cost to you and look forward to future enhancements that make your feedback and post-sale processing even easier in the future!
Can you let me know how this feedback posting disrupts your workflow? That will help us when we evaluate how we might help.
ferretbee,
We mentioned "future enhancements" in our e-mail, and we certainly had some ideas in mind when we wrote that. We may be able to help you save a few bucks if you have just a little patience . . ..
I've been testing out the Merlin application for auto feedback, and it seems to work as promised with a little setting up. It's a desktop application and the $10 is a one time fee, they have a 15 day trial version.
I'm sure Vendio will have some sort of auto-feedback tool, but in the meantime this will save me at a couple hours a week.
Here's my thoughts on auto feedback tools:
eBay sellers leave feedback at many different points in the post-sale process, so I'd like to see an auto-feedback tool that can be connected as an event to any post-sale step the user sets. This would work especially well here at Vendio since there are so many steps in the Vendio post-sale process (that's the reason I'm here--most auction management services have just 5 steps).
Here's some of the seller feedback practices I've seen:
Posted upon payment received/cleared.
Posted when shipped.
Posted upon confirmation of delivery by shipper.
Posted upon confirmation of receipt by buyer.
Posted after buyer has left feedback.
Posted several days after shipping (no news is good news policy).
I'm sure there's others, and I'm not advocating all of these practices, but an auto-feedback tool should be able to handle as many as possible IMO.
Thanks for listening,
Jeff (ferretbee)
p.s. Since I'm shooting my mouth off, here's my eBay stats:
6840 positives. 5961 are from unique users.
11 neutrals.
5 negatives. 4 are from unique users.
..now I just need 4039 more + to get the next star...

It's a great new feature. Just one suggestion: also check off step 8 - Item Received. If they're leaving positive feedback it's because they received the item, so Vendio should check off both 8 and 9 so the transaction keys are all lit up.
