Sometimes I end up with a single item being listed twice and selling both times. This causes me to have to explain to my customer the problem. I tell them my auction management system screwed up and launched it twice in error. Can you tell me why this is happening? Why can't the inventory system detect a double listing and prevent it?
Also
We collect sale tax and in your edit post management screen where the customer selects payment and enters billing and shipping address your sales tax calculator no longer exists and we are unable to apply sales tax to the invoice.

Hello dimento,
Duplicate items from inventory generally occur when a user clicks "stop" then uses the back key to resubmit (sometimes there is a bit of a delay when submitting an inventory item.) It is best not to click the "stop" button after submitting an item -and even if the page times out, you should always check pending/active to make sure your listings were not actually submitted. Duplicates can also occur if you double-click the submit button, so please be sure to only single-click the button.
As far as the tax issue goes, I see you have sales tax enabled, so you should be able to edit this as long as step #1 is not checked off in post-sale. If step #1 is checked, simply uncheck it to make changes and resend the WBN.

I get duplicate items all the time -- if I take an item that doesn't sell through eBay and then launch it to my Vendio store and then, down the road, do a re-list from the closed items, I end up with two, one at auction and one in my store. I just try to remember to go back and remove the one from my store and then change the quantity to 0. If you're unaware of this, I'll let you know the next time I re-list something that's been launched to my store, though it probably won't be for a couple weeks.
That is correct actually. Listing an item to auction will not remove it from the storefront. You will need to remove the item from the store manually before you relist it to auction. The inventory was setup to manage items with a multiple quantity, so when you list from the inventory page, you would not be able to do so if there was not the quantity available, forcing you to go in and remove the item from the store first.
Unfortunately, if you relist from your closed section, it will bypass that check in inventory for having the item available to submit, and end up with a negative amount in inventory.

Hi Diana,
Appreciate your reply to my problem. I understand how it can happen like you say, maybe need to give you more info. I build and auction and it is in my inventory and quanity shows "1", I schedule it to launch and it ends. I relist and edit the auction from post sale unsold items and it is usually at this point I sometimes have duplicate sales. I have to check my inventory frequently for quanitys that say "2", then have to go and find the auctions and close one of them. I don't know if I am doing something wrong or what. Could you find a time or action that launched an auction? I am constantly moving items from storefront, to inventory, to auction and around, if I did mess up on numerous items shouldn't the inventory catch it somehow?

Hi dimento -- I think your answer lies in the answer Christopher gave me...the going back and forth between store and auction isn't checked for quantity.
Hey Diana or Christopher, maybe that could be logged in? A way to edit store quantity at the time of a re-list? Thanks! BTW, this is one of the reasons I had asked for the option to be able to sort my inventory by quantity available, at auction, and in store -- so I could find these guys more easily and edit the quantity before doing a re-list.

I think what would be better would be a way to Edit the inventory for the store and qty available through a drop down menu at the inventory page where you can save all items at once instead of going to each item to edit individually it just takes to much time to sit and wait for individual pages to update
