Is there anyway to make Vendio a "secure" site? A large percentage of my customers shy away from proceeding thru my check-out, because they get the message about entering an "unsecure site". And now that they're taking away the Paypal button, it will force more people thru, and thus more of a problem.

Are your customers coming into Vendio.com (which isn't secure) and then getting into checkout from there somehow? When I bring up one of my checkouts from eBay, it doesn't warn me that I'm entering a site that isn't secure...and I know it is secure because the beginning of the URL is "https" -- the "s" indicates it's secure.
And I know my warning about entering an insecure site (or, more precisely, the message that the page will display secure and non-secure items) is working because I get it all the time, even on Vendio, where some of the pages are mixed security.
Perhaps some of your customers' web browsers security settings are set so high that everything comes up with the warning?

I belive they're getting the message when they attempt to enter the check-out. I know there are different levels of security depending on manufactor settings and things added by people like firewalls. You may not get the warning, because you signed up for the site and your computer recognizes an area that is safe. I've had many, many people over the past few months mention this. Some proceed anyway and some people are scared away. I had two last night email the same thing. As I indicated in my previous post, I am worried now that they're taking the paypal button away, this will prove to be more of a problem. I would like to see if it can be addressed. And if this site IS secure, is there a way to make sure 99% of computers do not get this message?

Excellent points. I think I'll have a look when I get into work tomorrow since we have all the corporate "stuff" set up there and I know I occasionally have trouble there.
My thought, at this point, would be to really emphasize the "secure" part of the checkout in your listings and in your WBNs...I don't know what the PayPal changes will do; they're not an issue for me so I haven't paid too much attention.
Something that I just did that, I think, will work okay even with PayPal's changes, is add the "smart logo" text to my global listing text here so it pops up in the box where I list my payment terms. It's supposed to change over to the "pay now" button after the auction closes -- I don't know yet if it's going to work quite right because I haven't listed anything new with that text included. And I can't tell you if it'll work for, probably, a couple weeks since I won't be listing for the next week or so. But maybe that's a workaround this issue for you. They'd end up with both a "pay now" PayPal logo and the Vendio checkout button.
Beyond that, with the security issue, I think this is something that Vendio needs to address for you; I don't know how/why some sites will load fine and others won't when they're all "secure" per the "https" in the URL. I know there are certificates and all other kinds of stuff...so maybe that's where the problem is for you. (what I mean is, why can your customers click through to PayPal fine but not the Vendio checkout if they're both "secure"
