We have released an improvement to the process of attaching images to your listings. This improvement will allow you to attach images much more quickly, which will in turn speed up the process of creating a listing as it eliminates the need for a page refresh each time you attach and/or delete an image.
Please note that this new process may require a change in your workflow if you are used to attaching an image then using the "Back" button to go to the next listing without saving your changes. As the page refresh (which would auto-save changes) has been eliminated from the attach image process, you will need to save the changes you make to a listing by scrolling to the bottom of the page and clicking the "Save" button, or scheduling a launch.
Thanks,
Diana

Please view my question below. When is this new attach image format, going to be working. Thanks to Sonya, who attached the images to the auction I was having trouble with at the time. I still can not attach pictures to the Create Listing page. The Attach Image Button, and the Delete Image Button, are still not working.

Hello,
chatsworth34, are you using WebTV to list? If so, this is most likely the problem as the WebTV platform is not generally javascript compatible. You might want to contact WebTV to find out if there is an update available for this.
neglus, which browser/version are you using, and in which preview is the image missing (the template preview, or the eBay preview?) We have not seen the same problem from here.
Thanks,
Diana

Yes, I am on Webtv. I have been with you since 1999, and would have appreciated a warning of the change. Then I could have attached images to new auctions so I could continue to sell on Ebay, until I could figure out a work around. Now, I am dead in the water, with almost 900 images I can't use. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Hi there,
Unfortunately, we have not officially been supporting the WebTV platform for over a year now due to javascript incompatibilities. We have logged a bug on your behalf, however. I do not know if/when we will be able to fix this issue, but you may still use our image hosting in conjunction with your eBay ads. Simply list the ads from eBay directly, then use the image hosting page to select your images and attach them to the existing ads (all you need is your item number and eBay account name/password to do this.) If you are using our pay-per-use plan, you should rethink your payment plan if you decide to use image hosting only.
If you have access to a computer, you might want to consider using it to create your listings rather than WebTV.
Thanks, and I apologize for the inconvenience.
Best regards,
Diana

Hello,
Once you click to attach the images to the auction, scroll down and use the eBay preview. Is this when you notice the images going missing?
We have had a few reports of users unable to view the images when using the 'full preview' option next to the template selector, but you should be able to use the eBay preview or the quick preview without losing them in the process.
Our apologies for the frustration while we track the cause for some of these errors.
Another workaround would be to attach the images and simply click to save the item at the bottom of the page. Once saved, click on the title in pending and verify they have attached.
If you continue to run into this error, please let us know which preview you are using when it seems to drop the images.
Regards,
Christopher

Christopher, I have tried everything that you have suggested. The image is lost in the eBay preview, the quick preview and I tried saving it and it was lost there too. I use Netscape, so it is not the browser. Please help us.

Hello skaarlands,
Your running Windows XP, correct? If so, can you try your copy of Internet Explorer and let us know if it does the same thing.
I doublechecked this on Netscape V7.1 and it works great, perhaps there is something odd about 7.02 that is not working correctly with the dynamic style technology being used on this page.

Christopher

Hi Christopher,
I tried Internet Explorer like you suggested and it worked fine. However, I prefer to use Netscape. Do you think that something can be done so it will work in Netscape 7.02 also or do I have to update my Netscape. Please let me know what to do. Thanks

The preview that is missing is the TEMPLATE PREVIEW - I like to use that one because it opens in a new window and I can close it fast and finish the listing.

Hello outback1,
When were you last able to use the regular attach images option on the create listing page?
Only some WebTv users have been able to use this page, but if you were able to previousley, you should be able to again now.

Christopher

Dear Christopher,
Thanks for the fast response. I have four active auctions, two that I listed and created on 9-22-03. No problems at that time. How can I send you an email, to further explain the situation?

Hello again Vendio-ians...I just posted on another thread regarding this new image attaching change. It's still not working. I have an iMac DVD & use Netscape. Just tried it again & still not working. It's been this way since the change was made. I'm using another auction manager/image hosting site til the matter is rectified. As I mentioned on the other thread...the least Vendio could do is post an announcement regarding this disastrous problem.

Hello zannatron,
We have received the threads you have posted to this morning on the issue, and are sorry to hear that you continue to run into this issue.
Unfortunately, it does appear that Netscape v.6 simply is not properly supporting the DHTML being used on this page. It is odd however that you are the only Mac user we have heard from thus far on this Netscape 6.x issue.
We are checking into this with engineering and do hope to resolve it as quickly as possible. For now, you could simply launch IE or update to a more recent version of the software which seems to be working with the technology used on this page properly.
Net

Christopher
