On the Vendio/Ebay Create Auction page: the menu where one makes Category choices for where to place an item, is loading, but the arrow to activate the drop down menu for category selection choices is remaining inactive. In other words I cant create auctions without being able to choose categories. What gives ?

I'm still having the problem. However, I can list auctions but I have to go the category overview and manually insert the category number in the field. This is definitely becoming a PAIN! Please fix it Vendio!!!

Hello Elizabeth,

Please try clearing your browser cache and restarting your browser. If that doesn't help, please let us know what exactly is happening, and what browser/version you are using.

Thanks,

Diana

emptied cache again AND rebooted to make sure of fresh internet connection ... still no go

Edited to add: Hmmmmmm.... I'm an AOL user and it is the same version of IE browser that I think AOL gives us, but also we have the big E icon on the Start button to get directly onto internet thru IE ... when I go to internet THAT way, I can pull down the menu! go figure.

For whatever it's worth to you, I'm an AOL user too and I *never* use AOL's browser, I always go directly into IE from my desktop. And I've never had a problem with the categories by using IE directly. That may be your answer, to ignore AOL's browser altogether.

I am on Webtv, and have 2 ID's with Vendio. I have always had to insert my Catagory Numbers in manually, as the drop downs have never worked with WebTv. Now I can't enter the Top Catagory box to type in my number. I can enter a number into the Second Catagory box, and click Continue, but it comes back, because Top Catagory has not been chosen. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello,

AOL users - try simply restarting your AOL software and try listing a new item again. A fix has been released for this issue, but the way in which AOL stores cached webpages, you may still be accessing the page without the new fix in place.

I just double checked this on Win98se and AOL8 and the category tree does appear to be loading fully, where you can then use the drop arrows to make your selection.

Regards,
Christopher

This morning, this is still not a functional pulldown menu. ... trying to access thru my AOL 9.0 and have winXP Home Edition ... [9.0 is AOL's newest version; I've been using this for accessing my vendio work just fine, for about a month, with no vendio conflicts 'till now]

Hi vendio... same situation all day today, ... thru AOL 9.0 WinXP it is still not working .... but thru my big E icon I can manage to get in and do something constructive with my day ...

by the way, i was working at our antique shop today that has Windows98 and AOL, i think 7.0, [it's an old machine], and listing and picking categories thru AOL over there worked fine .... just thought I'd throw that info your way while you're working on figuring out what to fix.

UGH!! Your "fix" is slowing up my listing considerably! Just when you got the image attachment process right and I was cranking out the listings I am back to a tremondous lag while I wait for the category to load in new listings..NOT HAPPY HERE!

Hello,

We have removed AOL from the list of ISP's that will use this technology, but unfortunately due to the way in which AOL cached its webpages - there will be a delay before you see the fixed setup.

Try closing out of AOL and reconnecting, as you should be back to the page without the loading indicator shortly.

Also, as others have noted, you should be able to continue to work if you simply launch IE from outside of the AOL window and list directly from it instead. The glitch does appear to be only with the AOL specific cobranded browser window.

Christopher

I am not using an AOL browser - in fact I don't have AOL open at all - and I have a TERRIBLE lag still! Cache is cleared etc etc....taking me twice as long to list now as earlier in the week (that's if I don't fall asleep watching the category status bar and then waiting for the categories to come up!

Sorry but it does not bring up that last category at all after hitting the patterns button....just stays blank and I'm unable to select what type of pattern...therefore not being able to list. I did go thru and use EI and everything worked ok but I'm one of those that prefers using Netscape.

Hello,

I just tested this with Netscape6/6.1, and that last section did seem to load properly and allow me to choose from one of them.

Try using a pending item to see if you can access it now. Perhaps there was just a templ glitch that kept it from loading fully last time.

Christopher

Hello bcphotos,

You are running Windows XP and IE6.0 correct?

What happens when you get to the category page? Do you see that progress bar start to load?
