Vendio:
Can you check this listing and see what is wrong. They did not like the link to "my gallery" which is the ebay listings in my Vendio store, which I thought was OK.

Hi Beth,
The store banner we insert for Vendio Stores has been approved by eBay. The link falls within their TOS and doesn't break any rules. If you have a copy of the email that they sent to you, regarding why they cancelled it, please email it to [email protected] so we can see what they said.

OK, just sent you the email. I had a link in the listing that sends you to the same page as your inserted link but instead of the little button that you put in, I had test that read "to see my listings click here". Takes you to the EXACT same spot as the vendio button. Have put the vendio button in now. I stopped using the vendio button because I did not like the placement, too low.

Here is an item that has the text they objected to:

You will see that the link is to the exact same page as the Vendio button. Strange.

Hi Beth,
Thanks for the posts and the emails. I wrote you back when I got your email with the list of items that got cancelled. Feel free to respond here or to that email.

Well, per their email that you have, they say it is the link NOT the text size. And, the text size is no different than another one of our Vendio users. You have the email you can read for yourself. So, I have changed all of the auctions and have included your link instead. We will see what happens. I have emailed Ebay but don't know if I will recieve an answer.

Got this answer from Ebay and forwarded it to you. We were right and they were wrong...we get to sing "I was right song".

Hi. I think the rule that was initially broken here was not the legality of the link-to-page association per se, but that the seller is only allowed one such link per listing. Unless the rules have changed since I had a vendio store, if I used the store banner which has an active logo to the vendio gallery page, I was told by ebay I was in violation if I also inserted a link/icon to my gallery again lower down in the description.
It was important to me to have a very prominent gallery pointer in my description because at that time it was not intuitively obvious that the logo was even clickable, much less that it would get someone to my gallery. To put a big custom pic and link to my vendio gallery in the description I had to disable the link on the store banner logo to be in compliance. Since I couldn't do that, I had to omit the gallery icon and put in a big bold line of text that said "click the logo picture in the banner above to view my auction gallery," or similar. The only other choice was to not use the store template because at that time vendio said there was no way to disable the banner link. Maybe there is a way now to disable the link.
If after all this you get another ding letter while using your store banner in the future, check the total links to the gallery page. They probably have some sort of automated scanning software that goes off if more than one link is picked up on random listing checks. Your listing probably triggered it, then when the discussion got started the focus shifted to be the appropriateness of the link (which of course is just fine) instead of the number of links. The banner logo does not look much like a link so when the focus got to be the endpoint page of your description link they may have missed the one in your banner.

Passedto:
In my previous listings, including the ones that were closed, there was only ONE LINK, my homemade one. Here is a listing number where you can view that: 2485947043
(nb: I did not have a ebay store at the time but it is inserted there now)
The two links deal happened to me about a year ago. I had the Gallery link that I had made and then I also had the "send folks to your listings if they click on the picture.". I diabled the link on the pictures AND if you look at a closed auction, you will see there was ONLY my home-made link, NOT the little vendio button I am using now. BUT, YOU ARE RIGHT and that got me in trouble once about a year ago. If one has a vendio store, one may not even be aware that a link exists. It has to be enabled/disabled on the stores page.
THANKS!!
Beth
