If I do a name change on my ebay id how do I change it in Vendio. I could not find where it would allow me to change it in your system. It will be the same account, email and all, but i am considering changing the user name on ebay, how do I change it on Vendio?

Go to "My Account"
on the right is an area called Auction Site Preferences and click on the ebay one. You can edit your name and password, I think.

The auction site preferences will only allow me to change the email. There is no place that I see that allows the user id to be changed. If I change it on ebay does that automatically change it on Vendio? I'm thinking probably not.

Hello,

If you change your eBay name you'll have to get a new authorization token from eBay (which you do through the Auction Site Accounts page). If you have trouble with this process please let us know.

Regards,

Sonya

I understand about the token part but that still does not answer my question. I plan to change my current user name on ebay, same account but different name. For the THIRD TIME, how do I change it on Vendio. I cannot find anywhere in the system that allows for this. When I click EDIT on the my accounts page it only allows for a change in the email NOT the user id. HOW DO I CHANGE IT, the user id?????????

Hey there,

We will be happy to change your account name for you. Because this service is not automated, there is a charge of $25 to help offset our engineering costs. This fee will be billed under the new account name.

Once the process of changing the account name is underway, it may take up to 24 hours to complete. During this time, you will not be able to log on under either account name. We will normally begin the name change process at approximately 2:00 AM Pacific.

If you agree to these terms and would like to go ahead with this, please let us know the following:

1. 5 account names, listed in order of preference, so that we can check availability for you. ***Note that the first two characters of your account name must be alphabetical. Also, account names cannot contain any "special" characters, such as asterisks, underscores, ampersands, spaces, etc. - they must be alpha-numeric only.***

2. 5 dates, excluding any Fridays or Saturdays, listed in order of preference (we will provide 24 hours notice before we change the name for you.)

Please let me know if you want to change your Vendio user ID.

Thank you!

Bob

Hi Bob,

$25.00?! That is the most outrageous thing I've ever heard of! I'm speechless, almost - LOL - Why is something like changing a User ID so complicated that it costs EXTRA money?

cococgld: I changed my eBay User ID over 2 years ago, but never did change it here. I figured, who cares? I'm the only one that sees it at Vendio anyway. Is it really necessary that you change your User ID here? Maybe there's something I'm missing?

Hey there,

Yeah, I think it's a bit ridiculous as well, but that is the policy in place because it is a database request that requires engineer assistance believe it or not.

However, that is correct. What is the reason for changing the Vendio name? No one really ever sees it besides you.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Thank you!

Hi Bob,

How refreshing to have an employee feel the same.

And we also agree that, if no one sees it but me, who else would care?. For 25 bucks my old one is quite nice, thank ya very much. )

Hi Bob,

Yep $25.00 is ridiculous. I think that maybe you are not understanding what I want to do. I don't care what my vendio name is as far as signing into my vendio account. What I plan to do is to change my ebay user id from cococgld to another name (user id) on eBay but still the same account. If I change this on eBay and not on vendio will my vendio account still work, will it automatically pick up the name change. I repeat, I don't care about the vendio user name. There must be a way to accomodate for the name change on ebay. I cannot believe you have to charge for that.

coco -

I'm thinking that you need to make the change with eBay first, at least that's how I remember doing it. Once the change has taken place:

Click My Account/Auction Site Preferences/Auction Site Accounts (NOT Specifics)

Under "Existing Accounts" you'll see "eBay/eBay Motors" along with your current User ID and Email address. Click the EDIT link to the right of that.

It's been over 2 years since I've done this process, so maybe Sonya, Bob or Chuck can clarify that last (EDIT) page and how it goes from there. It couldn't have been that hard, if I did it! lol

Not a terrific answer, but maybe it helps to clarify to the reps what you want to do?

Good Luck

Hi MIHIJO,

Thanks for the suggestion, but when I do that (Click My Account/Auction Site Preferences/Auction Site Accounts) the only thing it will allow to change is the email not the user name. I just want to find out how to change before I change the name becasue once I do it on eBay I'm not changing it back when I find Vendio not working.

Hello cococgld,

When you click the edit link, enter your email address first, then click the 'go to eBay sign in' button. This will walk you through the steps to store your updated eBay information.
