I have been tooling along relisting items today when I noticed that none of my relists were on ebay. After checking my pending auctions, I found them all piled up there with the big, fat red 'ERROR' next to them. It seems that 'item specifics' has changed. I noticed that when I relisted each one, and that my old item specs were gone and I had to re-enter the info in a more brief way. I re-entered the specs and relisted.
So whats up? Here is the error message for each:
The venue ebay has possibly returned the following message:
Error 5112: Attribute Set Id does not match category.
Attribute Set Id "16" does not match category you have entered. Primary Category's VCS Id: 2257. No VCS for secondary category. Attribute System Version 2702. Primary VCS Version: 21280.
Note: this error may be related to the Item Specifics content you entered. Please review content in 'other' fields in the Item Specifics section for validity and number of characters.
It appears to be all a problem with the items specs. Well, I did not change anything about the item specs- either Vendio or ebay did when they changed the format. I relisted as normal, noticed that the item specs options were changed and that my old info was gone. I put in the info again, based on the options that I was given.
So what am I supposed to do with all of these pending 'Errored' auctions?

Boy, I would surrrrrre love to relist auctions tonight...
As a side note, I just tried to relist 4 auctions without changing anything to the new 'item specifics' (leaving them just blank as the new item specs reset them, erasing my old items specs)- they STILL errored-out with teh same message:

Personally, I could care less about the item specs being there or not, but it appears that I will error out whether I fill them in or leave them blank on relists.
The error you are receiving is most likely the result of a change that was made to eBay categories and item specifics. To resolve this, please try the following:
1. First, edit the pending listing and reselect the category from the create listing form (click the "edit category" button just under the template section.) From the category page, reselect the category and click "continue". This may eliminate the error as it will resave the category with the current item specifics information.
2. If the above does not work, try copying the pending listing as you may be able to launch the copy (we would recommend testing this on one item first.)
3. Since certain attributes fields have been eliminated, you may need to recreate the item from scratch (the easiest way to do this is open two browser windows and copy/paste the information from the original to the new listing.)
4. If none of the above solutions works, you can relist or create the item(s) directly from the eBay website, then track them into Sales Manager by using the 'Track Other Listings' link on the top of the Sales Manager tab. Please note that this will affect your inventory count if these were originally launched from Vendio inventory. You should check your inventory quantities and manually update your inventory totals if these items sell the second time around.
I have 62 'errored' auctions in my pending because this change. All of these auctions were already individually edited one-at-a-time as I had noticed the change in the item specifics on the first one. That took a good amount of my afternoon. Now I have to go back and re-edit each one?
Also, to add insult to injury, I had two auctions end today that were on auto-relist- and, go figure, they too 'errored out'. Right now, I have 526 auctions with the 'old' item specifics on each one that will, at some point end, and I assume all 'error out'... which means they all will have to be edited one-at-a-time. (bright side? maybe they all can end with a winning bidder and I won't have to relist them).
I understand that it is eBay, not Vendio that made the change and you are not to blame- I am just venting my frustration at the moment

Thanks Diana,
Incase anyone else is experiencing this same problem, I tried your sugguestions:
I tied your suggestion #1- editing one of the auctions (editing the item specs catagory then re-selelcting it), and it still came back as an error.
Then I tried your suggestion #2- to click on 'copy' to copy the errored auction. Unfortunately, there is no 'copy' option when the auction is errored out in your 'Pending'. You have to click on the 'error' option & select 'edit'...which opens the auction to edit...then scroll to the bottom of the page and click on 'save', so that it will go back into your Pending auctions and will appear with the 'copy' option on the right-hand side instead of the 'error' message.
Then and only then can you click on 'copy' to get a copied auction into your pending. Of course, I always wonder which auction is the 'old' one and which is the 'new copied' one. I opened the lower of the two to launch, and ~thankfully~ it did actually re-list. I am greatful that it launched, but this is a very drawn-out, multi-stepped fix, and I am not sure I am up to doing this 62 times tonight
But I am now a bit worried about something else: These auctions (that I have to 'copy' to fix) are now not technically re-lists, correct? but actually are new auctions...sooooo, I won't get credit on ebay if this item sells, right? Somehow I feel a no-win situation here.
I commented on the ebay boards about their change to the item specifics catagory as I feel that THEY need to make a work-around; however if you have any input there... as I feel that when I post a problem there, it gets either ignored by ebay techs or lost in the multitude of other problem posts.
This does unfortunately appear to be the same error eBay was having with items listed in the pottery and glass category earlier this summer, where they literally would not accept any relists of previous items once they set new item specifics into place.
The only sure way to submit listings with this same data is to recreate them from scratch. Opening a second window to list a new item, then copy/paste the information over into the new listing window from the previous listing.
When relisting from a third party service such as ourselves, eBay picks up the previous data during relist and fails it with this attribute error message, even when edited to fall within their new attributes.

Thanks everyone,
I wish I could change the catagory to a generic catagory, but I am pretty sure that the catagory that I list in (art) brings up that pesky 'item specs' section- but I will look into that though.
That change just drained me last night (topping off the Paypal glitch!) Everyone knows how hard it is to find the time to list new items, much less worry about the multi-stepped one-at-a-time edit of hundreds of items. I just edited & relisted 5 auctions tonight and have at least 150 to go that are just sitting either in my closed or pending as errored, that all ended this week. And then there are the 550 active auctions/store items that I have that will close eventually...that will all have to be edited
...maybe some sleep will make it all look better in the morning!

Ive been struggling with this issue for two days. I tried all the suggestions, Did the editing and still can't launch even the corrected auctions due to the catagory change. Vendio, is it going to be necessary to set up each auction again and not be able to use my "inventory"?
I am also selling art (prints) that has a catagory change. This is a real headache.

The problem you were having with Noritake is even more complicated.
When eBay in their wisdom decided to collapse the Glass & Pottery categories, and move to Item Specifics - they chose category "94" to be the generic "Pottery" category.
As you may know, category 94 was until then Noritake.
So when they gave up on it (Item Specifics) and they reinstated all of the Pottery categories - they just made a new category for Noritake, and made 94 an invalid category.
pure wisdom!
