Someone please explain how I upload my photos now. I've been away from auctions for a while, but want to list again. I've always used the Pay As You Go method and have always been charged $.10 for each picture inserted. I only do a few auctions every other month or so and I don't want to pay a regular monthly fee when I won't need it. Please tell me how to upload my images and Pay As I Go. OR HAS THIS OPTION BEEN DISCONTINUED? I've followed the HELP instructions, but get stuck. Please clue me in!

Hello damseldog,
The problem you're experiencing is a result of the restructured Image Hosting pricing that went into effect on 9/30/04. We did not assign an Image Hosting plan to customers (like yourself) who did not have any live images; this step was taken to avoid charges for customers who weren't using Image Hosting.
If you would like to use Image Hosting, click the "Sign up now" button on the Image Hosting page. You may select the lowest level plan if you are more comfortable with that, as the plan will adjust upward if your image storage exceeds the amount of storage allotted to the plan you choose. Remember that all of your Sales Manager and Vendio Stores fees will work to offset the image hosting plan subscription, so you may not be charged additionally for image hosting at all if your Sales Manager usage fees exceed the image hosting plan fees.
Under your current Sales Manager plan, you will not be charged any service fees unless you use the Sales Manager service.
If you would like to retain your account and not be charged additionally for image hosting during periods of non-usage, you can do this by deleting all of your images (be sure to empty the Recycle Bin) and then discontinuing your Image Hosting plan during months when you aren't listing. You may disable your Image Hosting plan at any time by taking the following steps:
1. Go to My Account -> My Service Plans.
2. Click the "see other plans" link next Image Hosting, and scroll to the bottom of the page. Click the "discontinue.." link.

So you are saying I must opt for a monthly service plan, no matter what. The days of just paying a dime for inserting a picture into my auctions are long gone? I don't need any other service you offer, just want to insert one or two pictures into a dozen or so auctions per month for kids clothes and junk I clean out of the closets sporadically. If you are telling me I must buy into a pre-set, pre-paid service fee every month so I can list 6 or 7 kid dresses that would make a big difference for me. If that is the case - what is the least expensive "plan" I must buy, how many pictures or how much room does that get me and are there any additional charges??
If you use the image hosting tools only and either just list the items from the image hosting page or directly from the eBay website, you will need just the basic image hosting plan we offer.
It is $2.95 for a month, includes 3MB of storage, which usually is about 60 images depending on the size of the pictures you use.
Yes that's correct, no more 10 cent per image fee so long as you are listing from Vendio.
Let me try to clarify our image hosting fees policy. The following applies to customers who use the Sales Manager Pay As You Go plan. To estimate whether you will be charged additionally for Image Hosting, use these 3 steps:
1. Estimate your average monthly fees for Sales Manager
2. Find the Image Hosting plan that would cover your current image storage. To find this, look at the number next to the Upload button on your Image Hosting page, then compare that to the list of Image Hosting plans here (look only at the Image Hosting section on this page):

3. Compare the two numbers. You will pay the HIGHER of the two, NOT BOTH added together.
Here are two examples:
No additional fee
Est. monthly Sales Manager fees = $10.00
Image Hosting plan for 3 MB = $2.95
$10.00 is the higher of the two, so there would be no additional Image Hosting fees applied here.
Additional fee
Est. monthly Sales Manager fees = $2.95
Image Hosting plan for 55 MB = $9.95
$9.95 is higher so this would be the estimated monthly bill. Note that this number INCLUDES the Sales Manager fee and is not added on top of the Sales Manager fee (ie. the bill is $9.95, not $12.90.) In this case, $7.00 in image hosting fees were applied as the amount over and above the Sales Manager fee.
I hope this helps. Note that your first bill will not reflect the Sales Manager credit, as the Image Hosting plan is a prepaid plan. Next billing cycle you will see the Sales Manager credit, which will help to offset the Image Hosting fee.
