I have been with Vendio/AuctionWatch so long, I don't want to be reminded how time has gone so fast.
I really enjoyed the Pay as You Go Plan until Vendio changed the billing procedure.
On my invoice from 03/09 to 04/09; I had no pictures and my recycle bin was cleared; yet I was still billed $9.95. I've sent an e-mail requesting help several weeks ago but still have received no response.
I recently listed a couple items but have now determined that even though I'm a seasonal seller (Oct to March), I can no longer do the occassional auciton or consignment auction because pictures will cost a minimum of $10 for the one auction.
Please help me understand this better or what options I have. I still help numerous newbies to eBay mostly sellers in their 70's. I still always recommend Vendio for their convenience but don't think that Vendio is in their best interest. I do like Vendio's ease; my pictures are fantastic compared with just using eBay's pic system (which I may have to go to for the occassional sale).
I also have to add that I never delete pictures until the auction is done, so in essence, it is possible, the pics for one auction could cost me $20.
I miss the old pay as you go feature.
Help!
Thank you.

When you are going to be taking a break from listing for a bit, you will just want to disable any monthly based service plans you have signed up for - so you arent charged the flat monthly rate for them while inactive.
(these directions work for any montly based plans you may be setup on)
You may disable your Image Hosting plan at any time by taking the following steps:
1. Go to My Account -> My Service Plans.
2. Click the "see other plans" link next Image Hosting, and scroll to the bottom of the page. Click the "discontinue.." link.
Once this is done, you will not accumulate any charges for the Image Hosting service (but note that any current balance will still be charged at the end of your billing cycle.) When you start selling again, you can re-sign up for image hosting using the same steps. We recommend starting with the lowest plan, as our system will bump your plan up automatically when you exceed your plan limit.

Thank you for the response, Christopher. I have printed the information out; however, I would still like some reassurances that the billing department will contact me and/or credit my account for non-use.
In future, I'll anticipate having to jump through a few more hoops.
We will be happy to pass a note along to the billing department on your behalf.
Note that you will not want to click the 'discontinue' link until you do not need the image you have running in your current active eBay listing as this will remove it.
Wait for your auction to close, then go ahead and disable the image hosting service. Or just drop the billing department an email and request your image hosting service disabled while you are planning on being inactive for a little while.

Thank you, Sonya, but as I note above, I did email billing and I received no response. I, therefore, resorted to posting in this forum to get a response.
I have received a response but I think the
subject still remains something either billing has no answer for or doesn't want to take the time to understand.
I'm a season seller. I sell only between October and March. Why? Because the weather conditions through most of the country makes it suitable for buyers to sit at their computers and buy rather than at flea markets, antique shows, etc. Since being an eBay seller long before AuctionWatch/Vendio came on board, I know that, on average, its not worth my time the rest of the year. I sell in the antiques and collectibles category.
I jsut received an email from billing that still doesn't help me, I hope it will soon. However, billing should be more careful when sending a "copy and paste" of the message they receive from the moderator. It shows how bothersome addressing the issue must be for Vendio to have to deal with seasonal sellers.
In short, anytime you are going to be taking a break, you have two options to make sure you arent charged while away.
1. Ask us to disable your services for you. Either here in the message center or via email, doesnt matter which.
2. Go to the My Account page and click on the My Service Plans link. From here you can click to view other plans on any you are setup on, then use the discontinue link found within.

Again, thank you, Christopher, for your polite and professional responses on the board. I have printed this forum thread out for future reference for me to follow Vendio's procedures. I'll wait to hear from billing on my response to their e-mail to me.

If you disable your SMIE account, will things be saved for when you re-enable it?...or does this only apply to image hosting? I have a 2nd Vendio account that I use for listing personal, non-business, items. Sometimes I go months without using it, so I'd love to be able to shut it down for periods of time & not get charged, however, I don't want to have to set everything up from scratch if I disable, then re-enable it. For example, I don't want to have to re-create templates, saved inventory items, etc.
Please email us the name of your other account so we can look it up. I'll take a look at your account for you and make a recommendation for those times you are not using the account. If you disable image hosting then all images in that account get deleted so before you do that, make sure you save copies of it on your computer somewhere.
