I am having the same problem. I wanted to create and list a new item and the save would not work. What's up?

Hello,

We are currently looking into a possible issue with AOL specifically and these new checkout tools.

For now, before you click to save or preview the item, check the 'use html editor' box again so it shows you the code first. Then when you save it should do so without error.

Or you can launch internet explorer directly rather than go through AOL and it will work correctly also.

Regards,
Christopher

Hello,

Are both of you using the AOL browser? Please try an alternate browser such as Internet Explorer to list. If this does not work, please click the 'use html editor' box again after you're done making changes so it shows the code before you preview, which will also save it properly.

Regards,

Sonya

Internet explorer is no different. You should check these new additions before launching. Our time is valuable - we can't spend all day fooling around with someone's idea gone astray.

Hello cococgld,

If you are not using AOL, can we confirm that you are using Internet Explorer? If this is true, are you using AOL to dialup and connect to the internet or a completely different service as well?

While 99% of the users reporting this issue have been on an AOL dialup service or accessing Vendio from within an AOL window, it is possible that there is some other situation that could cause one to see the same behavior.

Try hard-refreshing the page by pressing CTRL + F5 on your keyboard or pressing the CTRL button + the Refresh button on your browser. You may need to do this more than once. Then make your changes again and click the save button.

Let us know the results of these efforts.

Regards,
Christopher

I am not using anything to do with AOL. I am connected via a cable moden using Firefox browser. I have tried over and over and the save doesn't work. The only way I seem to be able to get an auction to save is to type it directly into the description box without using the HTML editor, which is a real pain as it takes a while to sort thru the coding to make the changes.

Hi Cococgld,

What ISP do you use? Also, have you tried the control-F5? This has helped some of our customers -- if it does not help you, we will look into other alternatives so you can use the editor again.

I am not using AOL but BT Broadband and can not save listings through sales Manager either.

Cox is my ISP. All Control F5 does is open my computer files. It does nothing about helping save the description properly. What happens is I write the description in the editor then go to preview auction and/or save it, either way it just reverts to the previous description. The only way I can get it to work is to type directly into the description box without opening the HTML editor.

Hello,

Note that a number of the posts above are also referring to a speed issue that was happening earlier in the afternoon.

For those running into the issue where when clicking to Save or Preview and seeing the changes made cleared, there are a few options.

1. If you are on a PC and not on a Mac, press and hold the CTRL key - while pressing the CTRL key, press the F5 key at the top of your keyboard. This is a windows default to force refresh the page. If Windows isnt doing this on your own setup, hold down the CTRL key and simply press the refresh button on the page.
Once you find the combination of the two options mentioned above where it does refresh the page, do it a few more times.

2. If your using AOL (and only if your using AOL), minimize the AOL window and launch Internet Explorer (or any other browser you may have) directly and try it from within a non AOL cobranded window instead. (note this has worked for a number of AOL users but not all, please let us know if this is still happening for you and more importantly, what of the items mentioned youve already tried and their outcomes so we know what step your at.)

3. Try a completely different browser. (this applies to everyone regardless of being on AOL, or via a Windows or Mac operating system. If your using Internet Explorer, try FireFox instead. If your already using FireFox, try switching to Internet Explorer or Netscape.
If you do go this route and it either works or does not, please let us know what you were using and what you tried as well as if it helped with the save issue or not.

We apologize for the inconvenience. While we do expect to run into issues when changes are made and users are coming in via Compuserve or AOL, others do not usually run into the same glitches. Thus far no commonality between the users that are still running into this situation and has been found unfortunately.

Regards,
Christopher

Hello,

Can you let us know what you are trying to edit and what you are doing up to where your changes do not save? Please also let us know who your ISP is.

Glad to hear it's working for you again. It may have been related to when the site was running slowly yesterday. At that time, we had a handful of users complaining of this and other effects. We've since freed up the bandwidth and have reported that everything is fine.
Best Regards,

DarinCS
