I have two technical checkout questions.
1) When I go to "edit" the customer checkout page...in other words, fill it out for them as a customer convenience...used to be I could check off an insurance box. Now the option to do so no longer shows up, although I have insurance optional as a default. This is extremely inconvenient...is there a way to make this option show up on the edit checkout page?
2) Can you please check my settings and tell me what I need to do--that I must have not done--in order to get a combined shipping amount show up when a customer checks out...rather than me having to manually change each multi-item eBay purchase? Is this possible?
Thanks for your post. Are you doing this from the post sale fullfillment checklist page? If only step one is checked out for the WBN, you should check the box next to the listing on the post sale summary page, then click the "edit WBN" button. This will take you directly to option of edition all checkout fields.
The combined shipping options should be in affect. Please note, they will not get the noted discount until the actually proceed through checkout. Once they get all the way through checkout, they will be shown the difference in price.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks, Bob, but I was not talking about editing the wbn...I meant when I hit the "edit" link on the step 2 area of the individual customer recap page and a blank check out page comes up. I want to be able to edit the shipping page...the step two page. If, for example, the Paypal payment does not come through automatically, (as sometimes happens) and I have to fill in the customer info manually, I keep finding that there is no insurance checkoff box if I want to include insurance when I fill it out this way.
Yes, you would actually want to add the insurance options through step one. If the insurance option wasn't available, you would will need to add it. I hope this is making sense. You need to adjust the WBN to add insurance, before it will be selectable.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Thank you!
Bob

but why would have to edit it, if my default insurance setting on the wbn is set to optional? Shouldn't it come up as an option then on the edit wbn page in step 2?
What is the item number you are referring to? It might have something to do with the date the auction was started and ended, which we can check further when we know what item you're referring to.

okay, ORDER 783401426, for example is set with optional insurance in the wbn settings.
When I hit the edit button on step 2 from my computer, it shows the customers shipping amount, but no check off box to add insurance. Why is that?
You have step 2 already checked off, meaning that checkout was completed. The only way to add insurance is if you undo step 2 and run through checkout again (I did not want to do this, as I do not want to mess up your current settings for this item). You can't add insurance to the order the way that it is set up now because you have the second step already marked off.

Hi Sonya,
I gave that as an example before the order was completed. I have unchecked step 2, so that you can look at it and see what I am talking about....that I do not see how it is possible to add insurance if I go in and edit it even thought the default lists optional insurance.
Thanks,
Susan

Hello Susan,
You had it set to optional so what you'll have to do is undo step 1 (the same way you undid step 2), click the edit icon for step 1, make the insurance required instead of optional, save changes, then re-check step 1. Then if you go to the edit for step 2 you'll see that insurance was selected and applied.
