Hi, I have been having customers tell me that I have marked the item paid in ebay, when I have not!! I check the item and sure enough it is marked that I received the payment when I haven't! Who or What is doing this? I have not done so! It confuses my buyers. I notice that when they go to check out and fill in the little box number 2, then it marks it as paid in ebay!! I can go in ebay and un-mark it as paid but that is to much of a hassle. Please check this out!...Thanks so much....WCP.
Do you have any examples available? This usually happens when a customer is choosing to pay with an option that is not PayPal, and you have checkout redirect enabled. The eBay API records it as paid in eBay's selling manager.

I just looked at that listing I sent you the item number for and it also says Buyer Edited Total. I do not have this option checked in Vendio. I don't want people to be able to adjust their total.
Unfortunately this is the result of the buyer opting to pay with a method other than PayPal and your having the eBay checkout redirect enabled.
eBay has been running into this error for weeks now and while we hope they will correct it soon, you may have to disable the checkout redirect for the time being to help avoid it.
You can enable or disable the checkout redirect option via the My Account page, under the Post Sale Management link found within.

I've complained about this periodically to ebay and they refer me back to you.
You're exactly right in describing the situation. I have checkout redirect enabled. When a buyer checks out and chooses to mail payment, it shows up in My eBay that I recorded it as payment received.

This reply for the "fix" to this makes it sound like the checkout redirect is a big, unnecessary, problem-causing luxury, and all that is required to fix everything is to disable it. This ignores that without the redirect enabled a whole pile of customers will elect to bypass the Vendio checkout completely and pay directly through the ebay checkout for Paypal, money orders, checks---everything. Granted this "fix" solves the problem of erroneous payment tracking (crossover information) on ebay, but now what about the Vendio checkout?!!!! If the Vendio checkout is bypassed by the customers, how do we manage transactions with Vendio postsale? And worse, now how do we now manage the increased numbers of completely Vendio-independent transactions occurring through ebay alone?
Being willing to pay double fees to both companies for double sets of auction postsale tools doesn't help either, since ebay post sale tools only work on auctions launched through ebay, and Vendio post sale only works if the customers launch through Vendio and use the Vendio Checkout. Not even doing Paypal-only auctions with fixed shipping can help this any more because of the Paypal backend shipping glitch in checkout integration even when the IPN and Vendio checkout are both correctly enabled and used by the customers.
How do we get our customers reliably through some sort of postsale process if we want to list through Vendio?

Vendio... how 'bout an update to this issue? It's still happening. You blame ebay and they blame you. Please get together and fix this!

Don't hold your breath. Ebay has no motivation whatsoever to fix things like this, and Vendio can't fix it without them. The recent backend Paypal shipping integration glitch was the same way. It is not a problem for ebay or ebay sellers, only for Vendio sellers.
The more aggravation Vendio sellers have trying to do sales through Vendio in a way that produces a big mess on ebay, and the more aggravating it is for Vendio customers to complete sales outside of ebay, the more it drives the market to ebay for their checkout, listing, and post sale tools. As long as Vendio is a direct competitor and ebay loses fees (lost software subscription and image fees), backend glitches that don't get fixed very fast, if ever, will probably get more frequent not less. This one even erroneously alters online ebay data in a way that makes the customers notice--it's an ebay marketing dream come true!
One of your best workarounds until it is fixed might be a variation of neglus' combined system using the ebay checkout and Vendio postsale (see the thread on ebay checkout workarounds).

I list in Vendio and do post-sale management through EBay - there are glitches from time to time but I only have to look at one vendor to fix them. I do my relists through eBay since Vendio appears to be the only major service that does not have a bulk relisting to stores tool - pity!

Pixiamom- thanks for that info. Do you mind me asking if you use any of the ebay post sale tools like Selling Manager Pro etc. or you do them all manually one by one through My Ebay? When I wrote ebay they said they only offered automation functions for postsale if the listings were done through ebay listing software, not for listings done through any third party services like Vendio. Thanks!
