The worst they've been since Amazon began. No advertising; No support; No promotion. Too bad -- Amazon could have been #1.

Terrible. I keep wanting to leave, then decide to stay....I need to make up my mind and I'm leaning toward throwing in the towel.

One question I've meant to ask auction sellers - when you list an item to automatically re-list, is there a way to shut off the "closed auction" emails that keep coming?

Emak, I'm with you. I'm just waiting for someone to push me of the fence.

As long as I'm still profiting each month I'm staying but each month I get a little less profit. The time is coming soon though, I'm sure. My worst months at Amazon are nov & dec 2 years running. I don't see why this year is going to be any different.

No I don't think you can turn off the auction emails.

My auctions sales are few and far between~ I left amazon as I couldn't get a us account ( in Feb 2000) and then came back in August and started listing in marketplace~ but amazon still keeps changing there too .
They did add a sort of link , the click to see more stores ~ I listed about 70 auctions ~ mostly cheap romances and then listed a few more items that hadn't sold on ebay and did surprisely well on those. The romances didn't sell but the higher end items did~ children's books with a much higher price than ebay. So I am listing a few items here and there . My ebay sales are dismal at the moment. So it helps to have an auction sale at amazon once and awhile and I list on both auctions/z shops at the same time and then if one sells, I pull it off~ I have had 10 or so auction sales~ only 1 z shop and over 100 marketplace. Makes up for ebay!

i have a promerchant account and i sell on marketplace for books and non books in zshop.
the profit i made barely covers the 39.99 monthly fee.
i think very few people buy non books on amzn and those who buy books, there are many booksellers listing their books.
i was surprised i sold two books recently at a good price.
is there something wrong with amzn,i know their stock price just keep tanking?
is half.com eating its lunch?
or is it all these big discount booksellers which have been invited to sell on marketplace, they are slowly siphoning customers away !!!!!!!

I have gone from 25+ books a day to less than 25 a week. I am having a booksale next weekend and plan to shut down my Amazon sales
as soon as possible. At this rate my sales do not cover my expenses. My weekend sales not stand at 3 books. In the old days I would have 50+ books to ship tomorrow. This is sad. It was nice while it lasted

Hi
I just loaded a bunch of books onto Amazon.
Three sold immediately, one was a refund before I sent it...boohoo. It was only a $3 profit, I guess no big deal.
I am kind of bummed because books are expensive to list on ebay especially if they don't sell real fast.
Many of my books on Amazon are one of 2-4 listed, but a few are just thick with books.
I sell textbooks on ebay sometimes and the homeschooler crowd is pretty good, the odd spanish student.
I am ready to get rid of my books.

i sell remainder books and it is very hard to compete with the big discounters who are selling on amzn and half.com.
i wonder if this is a wise move for amzn in the long run as these discounters collect the mailing addresses of their amzn customers.
i know one of them offer books at amzn for a few dollars more than on their own site to cover amzn fee.
it is just a matter of time when amzn customer who have bot from this discounter to check its website fist to see if they can get it for less.
it is becoming more difficult to sell anything books and non books in cyberspace now.
