Use the category tree that you have created. Check my zShop as an example. (Think this path out beforehand. Also better to think about your search words before listing.)

Hi,
Thanks for answering. I looked at yours and am still confused. I have a find stuff box on my storefront which I've listed catagories in and related key words for the search.
One is "video cards" Do I put that and only that in the path ? (for video cards that is)
Sorry to be such a dunderhead, but the more I read the explanation Amazon gives, the more confused I become.

Search for items is one thing. Browse path is another.
I have search by general sizes and items (lg sweater, med t-shirt, etc)
I have browse by
Apparel > Sweaters > Numerical sizes
Apparel > T-shirts > Sizes
Misc > Treats
Misc > Other
Eventually I may add
Misc > Other > Books
Misc > Other > Videos
Misc > Other > Supplies
So the browse feature is kind of like planning your hard drive, with folders within folders, which will make it easiest for the customer to find what he is looking for, even if he is not totally sure what that is. Keeping in mind that you may add new folders in the future along these same paths.
Search looks for keywords.
Let me know if this is clear or not. If you want to send me your zshop name privately, I'll take a look and give more specific suggestions of how I might do it.

But how did you create those for browse ?
When I go into edit my storefront, there is no edit for the browse feature, it simply has "computers & software"
The "See all..." is grayed out.
Or do I have to create each path for each listing when I do the listing itself and that will install the browse path when the item launches ? Of course that still wouldn't answer why the default never existed.
Sigh...sometimes I'm a 6 watt bulb in a 100 watt world...
Oh, just click on my web site in the sig-it redirects to the zshop.

Exactly!
In the browse field, make the path to each item
first level:second level:third level
Be sure to think this out ahead of time as it is one thing that you don't want to redo again and again.
BTW: Really nice banner title!!!
Didn't see any MAC stuff, though
These I put in the browse path box when I list an item that belongs in one of the above examples ie.
An ATI Xclaim 3D would go in: video>cards>mac
Do I have it ?
As to your not seeing any MAC stuff, it would be up by now if I hadn't gotten stuck on the search and path problems !
Thanks for the compliment on the banner-I had that done by a friend who does that stuff professionally. You should see his web site- astounding ! The cartoon also is a commisioned work I had done specifically for my business by another friend who is a professional cartoonist. I wanted the banner for web sites and other advertising purposes. Banners are easy to intergrate urls into. The cartoon is my "mascot" type trademark. There is a female cartoon on the way to compliment the dude.

Yes. Once you have decided on the paths, then just put the whole path into the browse field. I believe Amazon wants colons ( : ) between the "folders." And when you have some free time, you can edit this into the items you have already listed.
And you are already aware of the long wait for the update, so don't worry if it takes 5 or 6 days. (sigh)

Well I emailed Amazon about the long wait-got an apology, an explanation and assurance that it would be fixed. Now all the paths and listings show, even the MAC stuff I put up about 12 hours ago. I can't complain about that-heck eBay's gallery which you pay extra for, sometimes takes 2 days. If I could just get Auctiva to get their counters to work on zShops, I'd be completely happy.
I've already had sales !
